where we stand
by Lolo Singh on Mar 31, 2009 04:48 PM  | Hide replies

I have worked in China, Malaysia and Thailand...to give you a proper perspective of where India stands compared to above countries, pls see below.

India is :

20% of China
20% of Malaysia
25% of Thailand

in terms of years behind :

20 Years behind Malaysia
25 Years behind China
17 Years behind Thailand

Mumbai compared to :

Bangkok is 20%
Shanghai is 15%
Kualalumpur is 20%

I hope this opens eyes of our fellow Indians and stop fruitless comparison. We are very very backward just because of politics

There are no brahmins in Govt. jobs. May be less than 1%. There are no Brahmin politicians. Reservation is upto 50% for others. Why keep blaming Brahmins even after 90 years of reservation.

Stand up and work for yourself.

Not true. There are non-Brahmin politicians (our PM is a Sikh) and businessmen. SC/OBCs are ruling the country with their reservations. In the govt jobs there is 60% reservation for them!!! So who gets more reservations..the non-Brahmins!!

Why Brahmins Should Not Be Given Reservation.
by RSS on Mar 31, 2009 04:48 PM  | Hide replies

Being a Brahmin Myself, I Urge my Community Members not to claim for Reservation - Like the Lower Castes, who have already Deteriorated The Standards of Education.

It should not have an unfair advantage - Like The Mus lims, who get CBSE Status for Education on the lines of Terror.

If there is No Merit (Based on Intelligence, then there is no need to study. Go to Temples & Become Pujaris.

Don’t Ruin The Country’s Progress by Claiming Reservation & Performing Poorly without Ethics or Intelligence.

Perfect, In India less than 5% constitue brahmin, why should we really bother about reservation, there are places where merit is recongnized. Lets target those options. Let this leeches who are dependent on reservation consume India day by day

WELL SAID RSS. I TOO ECHO YOUR VIEWS. BUT, THE ENTIRE NON-BRAHMIN COMMUNITY IS CULTIVATING AN EVIL MIND FOR THEMSELVES ABOUT BRAHMINS. WE BELONG TO A NON-REVOLTING COMMUNITY AND ARE MORE INTERESTED IN OVERCOMING THE OBSTACLES WITH OUR KNOWLEDGE (WILL BE READ AS TACT BY OTHERS) TO WIN AT ANY COST. THAT'S THE REASON WE ARE MORE PROGRESSIVE. BUT INDIA NEEDS PROGRESSIVE THOUGHTS AND NOT THOUGHTS OF COMMUNAL DIVIDE. WE DON'T NEED A SOCIETY THAT PREJUDICES PEOPLE BASED ON TAGS OF CASTE. I URGE LIKE RSS TO ALL THE BRAHMINS NOT TO ASK FOR RESERVATIONS. WE CANNOT BE STOPPED BY FORCE.

Even to the Pujari jobs in Temples, the Tamil Nadu govt. has brought Reservation. So, they have decided to chase the Brahmins out with vegeance. There is no equality in this country. Nothing is wrong in claiming Reservation. You say, No Money, No Jobs and No Education for Brahmins. They Brahmins have to become robbers/thieves and Militants. Then only the govt. will call them for talks or reservation.

But bramhins are the saviors of the future. See what has happened today in Mumbai(26/11); all the cities like jaipur, bangalore,delhi... etc. Reservations in police, intel, all aspects of day to day activities has made the whole of india, impotent and good for nothing. So wake up now and let merit rule. Do away with reservations, as even Babasaheb wanted reservations to persist for only 50 years and no more.

Wherever the Non Believers occupy that temple will not attract believers. If Kalyan Ram goes to temple after drinking and eating Meat, how he perform Pooja. Do you think any Dalit will come to the temple where Kalyan Ram is working. Only the real believers should work in temples.

This reservation farce has gone on for too long !!
by SS Kumar on Mar 31, 2009 04:46 PM  | Hide replies

Yes, it is true, some of the backward groups faced discrimination in the past and needed to be compensated for. But right now this reserva tion scheme looks like a farce used only to fetch votes for the political parties. We should put a defined time limit for such a scheme and thereafter, only let merit be the deciding factor. It is sad to see a student from a forward community being denied college admission even after scoring 98 % just because the seat is reserved for a backward caste. Does anyone realize the severe trauma the boy or girl goes thro' for no fault of his or her ?

Can u tell me what were these Backward groups about 100 or 200 years back.
They were Kshatriyas, Vysyas (business community, Yadavs (rulers) and land owners. The Brahmins were just pujaris and beggars.

Do you think they deserve reservation based on the past?

by harri Rathore on Mar 31, 2009 04:46 PM

Brahmins are ahead of race in every corner of life in India. I'm not a believer of racisim but the value system which they have adpoted for several years has got to do something with their undisputed advancement. This community is only comparable to Jews. People all over the world hate them but never bother to investigate why Jews are ruling the world even today? India is united today with reasonable justice system to everyone is because of some REAL efforts by some progressive Brahmins. Hard facts never goes well within the masses. They need just one face of their own whom they can identify with their upliftment. Thats exactly is well exploited today in India. Unfortunately again this time by Brahmins!!

reservation for economic backward
by roy jose on Mar 31, 2009 04:44 PM  | Hide replies

Intolerence in India is growing day-by-day all because of the fact that we see the other person as Hindu, muslim, Christian, etc. Then he is North Indian or a South Indian, then within Hinduism we see him as Brahmin, Harijan, etc. IT IS HIGH TIME ALL THIS IS STOPPED. It is totally irrelevant, objectionable and disgusting in the year 2009.

We should see the other person first as a human and second as an Indian – nothing more than that. No north Indian, no south Indian, no mee marathi, just mee Indian.

Hindi language has already become a major language for majority of Indians. So let it be like that. Don’t try to change that now after 60 years of Independence. Don’t say – my Tamil and my marathi.

RESERVATIONS SHOULD BE PURELY ON THE BASIS OF ECONOMIC CONSIDERATIONS, NEVER ON CASTE BASIS. If a person is very very poor, below poverty line, he has every right to be taken care of – whether he is Brahmin, SC, ST, muslim or Christian.

If economic basis is taken for reservation, then there will not be caste feeling at all.

The rich will also work hard to come up in life.

Now, there will be rich among different castes and further divisions will take place.
