Who introduced reservations
by smrsraja on Mar 31, 2009 05:38 PM  | Hide replies

No doubt there are some excellent brahmins lived and led this country, even today we have great leaders, business men, bereaucrats as brahmins. But that does not mean they are the only best and a unique class who can do those jobs. But a brahmin would think that way only.

Its the brahmins who started with the reservations. In the past also, brahmin established gurukulams admitted brahmins first and only the remaining seats are left to other castes. Even today, popular brahmins run schools like PSBB in Chennai would prefer to give seats only to Brahmins. percentage of non-brahmins would be less than 20 percent. What is this called?

They want their own colony, streets, schools and would not prefer sharing with other castes. If you are non-brahmin, try to hire a house in Mylapore(SV Sekhar's constituency), first question they ask is are you a brahmin? if no, most likely the owner is going to reject you.

TN Govt did the right thing in allowing non-brahmins to perform poojas in temples. And Brahmins call this humiliation. They claim that God has designated brahmins alone to perform poojas. Also if there is one community in the world which is most superstitious, its the brahmins.

Most Brahmins are supporters of BJP, because its run by RSS backed Brahmins. Obviously they just cant tolerate other caste people ruling them.

All reservations should be abolished without asking any question at one stroke. Scholarship is to be given on merit after ascertaining the economic condition of the student. Also employment also should be give after ascertaining economic condition and merit with due marks. Enough is enough the money spent on implementing reservation and money wasted on reservation is like money spent on running the parliament. Nett result is close to ZERO. On other aspects as a politician as he claims to be I welcome him as a politician.

For centuries Brahmins had reservations in everything ( I don't want to elaborate). Since nature/world/life has a strange way of balancing things up, things are now as it is. Anyway reservations should be based on poverty levels and merit and not based on caste. But this is not an ideal world.

So you want to punish them for what happened some hundreds of years ago
then why not punish other religions
there are religions and people married thousands of hindu woman
converted so many people
why are only bramhins targetted
How many bramhins are now eating full meals a day
regarding Pooja: you go get marry and ask a non bramhin poojari
you want bramhins when u born when u marry when u die
but u want them under your foot

S.Ve.Shekher and reservation for Brahmins
by balkrish on Mar 31, 2009 05:37 PM  | Hide replies

The comedian should learn the Indian history first on Dravidians and Aryans.Dravidians are the ancestors of this land unlike Aryans who came from Central Asia are highly intelligents and made the poor native Dravidians as their slaves from vedic periods onwards till Indian Independence.Brahmins are basically intelligents and they will stand on their own legs at any circumstances unlike non-brahmins.Even today you cannot find a very hard working very poor among the men and women in Brahmin community.Hence the reservation for Brahmins not at all arises now or at any point of time.

your history seems to be right out of textbooks an anglican version of central asians shifting to india and oppressing them however for your information there has been no serious evidence of a so called dravidian aryan war in ancient times so this story told by english teachers to divide india was well taken and followed

Actually there was no aryan invasion in India. The people who went out of India, for expeditions, and exploration came back, They went out of their community or 'Rya' in ancient tounge of Sanskrit...Hence local people who returned were called 'Arya'. Read 'Return of the Aryans' by BS Gidwani. There are several archealogical reasearch pending in this area of discussion. We will soon learn the truth. The britishers wanted us to be a enslaved race from time immemorial, hence they invented Aryan Invasion theory

Brahmins are not treating others properly
by eCran on Mar 31, 2009 05:37 PM  | Hide replies

Brahmins are not treating other caste people properly. They are considering them low. This is not good. They are more intelligent than others and so they are corrupting other less intelligent people. This is the cause of problems in India. But I feel some of them are poor and on economic status basis, reservation can be given to them.

Brahmins should treat others equal.
This is the only problem with Brahmins.
In future this will disappear, brahmin can be identified by his intelligence.

IT IS SAD THAT INSPITE OF GIVING SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES BY WAY OF RESERVATIONS AND INSPITE OF GOING UP ECONOMICALLY SOME ARE ALWAYS AGAINST BRAHMINS. DOES IT SHOW THAT THEY STILL BELONG TO THE LOW CLASS!!!!
