Caste will not go away, because we live as groups? If you think there is no caste, you willl lose your relatives and community. But learn to respect the elders, other caste members and learned people.
I am really surprised In India: I think this is the only countrhy You get support if you are against Hinduism You can speak what ever you want against hinduism the more you speak the more popular u become Compare this with our neighbours We make fun of the Bramhins , who as per vedas, are direct son of Bramha Still you dont appreciate their patience and tolerance Bramhins, whether you give reseravtion or not they dont blindly support parites you cant allure them with money and liquor at least they are bit decent I am not saying that the other castes are not decenet but even if you give reservations Bramhins would never accept
We should have reservation only for ST SC only. The BC/MBC/OBC are created by the brains of TN Politicians for their own convenience. Hence we should abolish reservation for BC/OBC/MBC and keep reservation only for ST and SC. Yes we can have other category - Economically backward - EB - from any community including Brahmins. This is my suggestion

I'm not supporting reservations. Just travel through remote temples and look at their spate. Its really pathetic. For instance, I visited Rameshwaram and it was sadenning to find that the local fisherman took 50% of the earned income by the brahmins. I am not questioning this tradition but for some that 50% income sometimes account to only 450 to 600 rupees a month. How on earth will that person survive? He has to resort to begging there practically is no other means!
I support reservations need based rather than caste based. I disagree with the present system of extending caste based reservation based on the notion that some crime has been done by the so called upper caste generation about many years back. It is just like saying that your forefather was a criminal and you happened to be his grandchild and I will punish you now. It is now time that the reservations should be needbased to economically poor so that there will be equal opportunity for all needy. Fixing economic criteria in all castes is the need of the hour. Re: 'Why shouldn't Brahmin community get reservation'?

That practically is the problem. Only the barking dog will get its bite. Brahmins should atleast learn that now. Every citizen of the country(including brahmins) has the right to live a decent life. Its duty of elected official to provide that. Its duty of every citizen(brahmins included) to use all senses and get elect the candidate.

First of all the concept of reservation needs relook. The reservation for sc/st needs to be continued. All other reservations are to be scrapped. The Brahmins in Tamil Nadu are about 6%of the tamil nadu population. If you see the percentage of jobs occupied by them in Tamil Nadu it is much higher-say about 25% at the higher level.Reservation at the lower level is about 8%.So where is the need for reservation ?
I read in one of the articles published couple of years back that Tamil - Iyers/Iyengars are next to Jews- The most complex and intelligent people in the World. It is also evident that no brahmin community in India has ever uttered a word against reservations till date this is because they are equiped with skills and do not need any stick to walk unlike other communities. I suggest brahmins in India to come together and nurture their own resources for their development this will also help economically downtrodden brahmins. Jews are glaring example for this.. Why do you need reservations.....
also stop the other communities from harrasaing bramhins stop showing bramhins as buffoons in films before commenting on Bramhins rememnber that you are going to depend on them when you are born when you get married when you give birth to child when you die also if they are not there, there is no one who gives u the last respect a soul deserves I am not supporting Bramhins There are Bramhins who make fun of themselves by not following the rules I am speaking about Poor, deserved and true bramhins

Excellent....Being a brahmin, I know even in North India, we are treated as one of the biggest enemy of any other caste and religion and never supported by any one. Till date I have not seen any person working for brahmins, Gujjars,Jats,Sikhs even they are rich but enjoy quota, whereas poor brahmins because they have only mind not ancestral properties like Kshatriyas,Gujjars they are wiped of any benefit because they belong to Brahmin community. BIg shame for INDIA
Brahmin will never ever get any kind of reservation just becausehe they use their brain, they can't not be loyal to any party inspite of so called favor done by a party...they can't become loyalist like dumb sc/st or muzlim to one perticular party..as they struggle more their generation is becoming sharper
