Are you ready? If the Govt has guts , it can reveal the caste based statistics of crime.Only Bs are peace loving despite the atrocities mounted against them by many other indians.

dont want any reservation. I dont want to lose out on what the reserved categories are losing on due to assured livlihood. My f@ther groomed me from my childhood days to nurture my greatest asset, my brain. I passed college in merit, procured a job thru merit, and now in a relatively good position. The next cycle is just starting. I am grooming my ch!ldren to nurture and rely on their brains. They excel in every subject in school. They have realized the importance of education and am pretty positive they will make it big and stand on their 2 own feet without any reservations.

That is good. But what is use of brain when they limit the scope for you. If out of 100 posts only 4/5 are available for general category what is the purpose studying so hard. You must fight to abolish all reservations except for physically handicapped.

This should be an eye opener for people who spit venom on brahmins. For kind information,in olden days, Brahmins never killed people on the basis of cast. They only told "don't touch me". Now a days, it is more in brahmins who are marrying people from muslims, christians and schedule castes etc and showing the way to others.

That's what is expected. Brahmins should live up in dignity and make dignified living for fellow brahmins instead of begging for reservations.

Well I second ur views Ravi raj, well brahmins just have a tag of brahmin thats it. No reservations nothing. Infact according to me reservations should be there just to secure an entry or get a job into an organization and not for future promotions. For future promotions i feel they should definitely compete with other guys. I really feel the brahmins are the neglected part in the national politics what if they start getting reservations, well since political parties are not behind them, i feel they are in minority.

reservation is provided only to opprosed ppl and not to ppl who opporsed downtrodden,
so brahmins should not ask for govt benefits which they are not fit to ask.

Still Brahmins dont need reservation..this is just a pointer toward the unjustified reservation system that exists in TN and India...we need to revamp the system to target only the financially backward...this is a political statement by Shekar to initiate the debate..Kudos to him

Reservation & Vote Bank
by Patriot on Mar 31, 2009 06:35 PM  | Hide replies

As long as Brahmins posses a certain percentage to challenge a election in any state, they will be provided reservation by Politicians. But thats not the case. In a State like Tamil Nadu every community has backward status except Brahmins. But then there is also a question of how many Brahmins asked or begged for it? To many bloggers point they deserve it, we are not sure if they were the ones who created a caste system. They did practice it vigorously so that their respect / ststus is not challenged. After Periyar movement and thanks to people like Karunanidhi, one would imagine the caste system , especially Brahmins effect on society have nullified. But truth is Thevars, Chettiyars, Mudliars every practices it. So lets not blame only Brahmins for this mess. Infact in a state like Tamil Nadu where they form the least percentage, others seems to even today practicing caste politics. In land of Periyar, Karunanidhi - in south the Thevars still rule the roost and kick SC/ST's and treat them badly. Socail justice is very very far even without Brahmins in scope. So the blame should not be on them only. By the way one wonders what Veeramani (the disciple of Periyar) is doing these days.

Well it is this problem of "Not recognizing goodness / good deeds
" done by many human beings that we as a country are not united and still not progressed to the levels of US. We always to tend to pick the wrong side and exaggerate and generalize. Tell if I write a articles saying something about Malayalees, there would be million bloggers writing bad about the people. Let me write an article about Thevars , there would be a few million writing about them and their aggression. So this is our country men's problem. Like you say there were many good deeds done by Brahmins. Many sincere men who served public offices without bribery, many teachers at schools who after Independence inspired the next generation. But no one talks about them. They immediately pounce on shortcoming of this a particular community. What is nationas percentage of these people? With Mayawathi, Karunanidhi, Gowda's today ruling the country, why still we spit venom on these people. Have we wondered what Karunanidhi given 20 years of time done to Tamil Nadu? Lets debate that.
