It is not against this or that. Are you with yourself ? Do you belive, you have merit (dont read marks) to get proper job and have ability to work hard and lead good life? Then just do it.

When merit is not valued that society is doomed.An institute or company if admits candidates on criteria other than merit God save them. If a community feels let down by other sections solution lies not in reservations but nurturing by other means by giving them free and compulsory education. In India reservations have not helped the downtrodden but only helped in the meritorious to flee the country. A layer who have gained benefits have prevented the real downtrodden to access the benefits and they are the real enemies of the lower members and not the brahmins who have moved to greener pastures where merit is valued and they are enriching that community.

there was no merit according to vedas and brahmins , thye just divided people into lower castes and hi=gher castes , and the lower castes were not given an opportunity to come up in society

In vedic period all the sections were equally placed. Every one was respected as long as they were doing what they were supposed to do, even today brahmins are respected only when they do what they are expected to do.

Now a days it is all about rich and poor. If you are rich then you have all opportunities and carry respect. If you are poor, then irrespective of caste you are backward.

As a Brahmin, I do not want reservation. It is the strength omy community. It teaches us to stand on our own feet. It does not push our 50% son/daughter to get medical degree but find new ways to succeed in life. In 60-70s, Brahmins succeeded by taking simple govt. jobs. Now all these jobs are going for SC/STs, fine, they are succeeding in IT/Medical fields. Tomorrow, they will find new avenues of success. You can not ask to become Tata once he is already successful for 100 years. Ask something new.

But not all are going to think the same. See Maratha people, richest and strongest caste in MH is asking for reservation. This will go on ..and you will stay oppressed if you never showed any results in your life

What logic or sense does it make to say that you will punish the child for a crime his father has committed? If thats the case, all the ppl lodged in jails, their f@m!lies shud be cu11ed. Not that i support reservations, i dont need any, i will use my asset, my brains, which you seem to lack and still thriving on reservations. Wake up and realize what you are missing due to this reservations. Its making you and your ilk lax and the spirit of survival of the fittest is dying a slow death. You may not be effected by it, but somewhere down the line your decendents will curse for this policy.

I, a brahmin, dont want any reservation. I dont want to lose out on what the reserved categories are losing on due to assured livlihood. My f@ther groomed me from my childhood days to nurture my greatest asset, my brain. I passed college in merit, procured a job thru merit, and now in a relatively good position. The next cycle is just starting. I am grooming my ch!ldren to nurture and rely on their brains. They excel in every subject in school. They have realized the importance of education and am pretty positive they will make it big and stand on their 2 own feet without any reservations.

Politicians will not consider Brahmins in any development agenda because they are not a Vote Bank. They would not be considered for any concessions even if they are poor, and dont even have a days meal. Politcians will target them with sadistic cruelty and also appease other castes to get votes...We have to live with this truth
