Well in the hindsight Brahmins are relocating due to better opportunities abroad. But in reality they have been pushed into a corner and thrown out of this country as they have chosen to live as secondary citizens abroad.

This is already happening. The west recognizes that brahmins can add tremendous value in the area of science, engineering, education, maths, etc. Brahmins in India are presently having an average of less than 2 children. It takes 2.1 children to sustain a population. The migration of brahmins to the developed world has already taken place in past 20 years. One has to just look around what kind of indians are taking positions in educational & governmental institutes abroad.

DMK - Ruling Party hate Brahmin
by S r on Mar 31, 2009 09:38 PM

DMK hate the Brahims For any drop of hate the hate speech comes from these DMK, PMK parties.

Take the Case of AIIMS former Director Dr. Venugopal. He is brahimn from Tamil Nadu every way the PMK leader and former Union Health Minister Ramadoss with active support of DMK gave hindrance to AIIMS Director working and Ramdoss instead of improving the Health services in India his only one goal of Ramadoss is to remove Dr. Venugopal from AIIMS. At last he succeeded in motive the services of great person is terminated from AIIMS. This is only Ramdoss really done in his 5 Year terms plus earning about 400 to 500 crores being the MP and Union Minister. Have couple of swiss accounts in his dependend names.

This is what Indian Democracy

"One doesnt become a brahmin by birth alone"

Thats how it should be, but thats not happening in reality.

But, even today, Brahmin run schools in Chennai (Like PSBB) wont prefer to admiit non-brahmins. If you count the non-brahmins in such schools, it would be less than 20 percent. What you call this? is this reservation or discrimination.

psbb has strict system of admission based on knowledge... if it was based on caste there would be not even that 20 % in that school

talent is not confined to brahmins..but brahmins think otherwise thats y they are seen by others with hate.

If they voice for merit based, then first they should follow it.

Really why should there be any reservations after all?
by Fried Yakov on Mar 31, 2009 09:33 PM

Really why should there be any reservations after all? soon every community will demand a reservation. This is not feasible- so the process of reservation must be scrapped.

Reservation for Brahmin must for 'Incredible India'
by Sukla Bhattacharjee on Mar 31, 2009 09:33 PM  | Hide replies

If 'Imam' for Mosque, 'Father' for Church,'Bhikshu' for Buddhist 'Moth' can expect due respect in the society, why world's third largest religion Hinduism (6000 years old), cannot show respect and make sacrifice to preserve its vast knowledge, heritage by offering due honour to Brahmins? If Brahmin are allowed to be melt down who will carry the old wisdom, knowledge? Such vast knowledge and practices can not be left to certain casual periodical revolutionaries. It should not be forgetten that whenever one say 'incredible India', it was and is the "Brahmin", who cared/cares for upliftment of all in the society. He used to pray (now also pray in any social gatherings non-formally) for other's/ societal welfare only. Brahmins preserved our heritage, our culture, our dharma (property) in a selfless fashionable manner, with restricted diet, limited clothings, disciplined lifestyle. Even today, any Brahmin is intellectually/ socially superior not only in manners but in words also. "Brain and Brahmin are interlinked". Comparative Genetical make up of human brain has not yet been studied in details. Study can reveal that Brahmin's 3000 years genetic make up can make him superman in any field of study/ work. So patronize a Brahmin Boy with small (7%) reservation. He will change the face of India altogether, leaders in all fields. Congratulation to S.V.Shekhar, MLA for demanding 7% reservation for Brahmin in Tamilnadu. Let it be for whole India for its all round progress. "Jai Hind"

Your mentality suck... you don't fit to live in a civilized world...

I think with 300 years culture US has more supermans with amalgamation of people from various races not limited to one particular caste..

I shudder to think about your mentality... and I believe you are a human being...

S V Sekhar's quitting AIADMK over shabby treatment in the Party
by rajendra baru on Mar 31, 2009 09:30 PM  | Hide replies

I feel Mr Sekhar is not wrong in demanding 7% Reservations for Brahmins.Political Parties want the votes of Brahmins but benefits are showered on the other castes.Brahmins though called "forward caste' are really a neglected lot in India. It is truly said that in these "Reservation Raj" Brahmins can "Shine" abroad and not in India. Mr Sekhar is Right in demanding Reservation for Brahmins.Step motherly treatment to Brahmins will prove very costly if remedial steps are not taken immediately.

by Lopesh S on Mar 31, 2009 09:22 PM

Do U know recent take over of Chidambaram temple by non-hindus

The recent Take over of Chidambaram temple by non-hindus and aestheists on Tamilnadu shocks our conscience. In many ways the ‘dravadian (by logical corollary ‘non indian’) heavily campaign against Hinduism and Hindu Symbols bears resemblance to the actions of the Taliban against non-islamic symbols (Bamiyan Buddha statues) in Afghanistan. Under international outcry even the Talibans halted their destruction of the statues, but in India the same set of politicians are now keeping quite.
Needless to say every attack on Hinduism and a section of the Hindu society (dubiously called as ‘upper caste’) is packaged as social justice! Sp great is the fear of ‘caste, votebanks, that even parties professing support fo Hindutva are refusing to consider the just and fair rights of the Unreserved Class Hindus. Things have gone so far that none of them are even willing to consider the Unreserved Class Hindus as Citizens.
