That should be the slogan of India to progress. Having 27% reservations for SC/ST is criminal. It is discriminatory. Most Brahmins are just brilliant and there is a purposeful agenda to deny the bright upper caste Hindus1 seats in colleges/ jobs, etc, even though they are at the top of the intellectual cream. The agenda is from congress- deface Brahmins, and that will eliminate Hindu roots. It is a xtain scheme to promote their cu lt. Giving preference to low IQ people based on quota will not lift India up. Get rid of reservations, and promote meritocracy- then see how fast India will progress.

I agree somewhat abt reservations to SC/STs. They don't deserve that much. But brahmins are also not far behind, they are very cunning.
S V Sekar is correct in coming out of ADMK but where will he go? BJP is toothless in Tamilnadu, so where will he and when will he go to Delhi. i have heard about him a lot and his dramas has policitically correct statements which makes me think that he is certainly a good leader to lead from front and revive BJP in Tamilnadu. BJP leaders - Be sensible and take leaders for the future rathern than focussing the grand old man of the party.

for the last 5000 years tamilnadu has been ruled by tamil dynasties such as chera, chola, pandya and pallava. during those period Brahmins were very poor and performed service in temples to get food. but during the british occupation due to their intelligence they were employed in good administrative postions. so when britishers left the country generally brahmins were hated in tamilnadu due to them serving the british loyally. and thats the reason they are hated in tamilnadu. I beleive brahmins in tamilnadu / south india should be given quota. they live in poor conditions in slums.

what quota is going to do for them please exaplain? I wish he would have promised to provide good and accessible (free to those who does not have resources) to these Brahmins.
India is the largest democracy in world. But does it mean that it gives u the permission to say anything whether it makes sense or not. We should try to understand that reservation is an enemy of the society .Our constitution says that all people of different cast color and creed are same in India and there will be no discrimination. But is this thing being followed. Are we trying to distinguish between casts(reservation a way), religion (providing reservation to Muslims, christians)? If all people are equal then from where words like minority and majority coming.

"Reservation is an enemy of the society". No doubt about that. So, either remove the reservations completely (which is not going to happen in current day's vote-bank politics) or give reservations to brahmins, like SV Shekhar says. Why should they suffer the injustice?

Reservation should be fair for everyone. Moreover, Brahmins are far more intelligent than others. So, giving reservation to poor Brahmins is a boon because they will atleast benefit the society with their knowledge.
Government if it has to really uplift downtrodden people must reserve and provide compulsary education at the primary level not when their services directly go to people. People coming via reservation when they have to provide vital service to country screw the country. poor doctors, poor engineers, poor architects coming via reservation screw the country. reservation just promotes incomptency and does in-justice to bucketed forward community folks by simply sidelining them in the process. Let competency be the criteria for people uplifting themselves after school. Let government provide reservation to economically weak folks. It is not the caste that is the culprit now. It is MONEY. Shield poor from poverty and provide them good education. We are in Global village era. so this caste based reservation process will not bring india to the forefront. It just ruins her.
I think in India we should make caste as the basis for all educational and job openings. In schools starting from the minor to senior secondary, we should clearly define Brahmin 5%, SC 7.5%, ST 12.5%, Bania 3%, Jat 2%, 1% for Christians, 1.5% for Muslims...Like that.. This is what will make out caste system prominent and reflect the true picture of indian culture in global field. Also we should not have one prime minister. We should have one prime minister representing each castes in india. We should not have one finance minister or one railway minister.. We should one each from each caste.
In the passport, Caste of the person should be mentioned, so that in flights we can have reservation for castes to book seats.
So ugly is the caste politics in india and politicians have been exploiting it since decades to play vote bank politics and we support that.
When mandal comission was initially implmented its recommendation was to review it after 10 years and reduce the quota system. Instead of uniting people , politicians are making further division to the society just to achieve their political goal. But we still keep voting those guys to power because we don't have option not to choose any.
One should remember the article published 4 or 5 years ago in Cricinfo.
There is no reservation in cricket , then how come in late 1990s there were 7 to 8 brahmins in Indian cricket team. But i am not sure about few peoples in the list named as Brahmins.
