First person to say that by giving reservation we are doing social injustice to forward communities. Why should we punish them for what happened 40-50 yrs before? I love it!

Mistakes of the past is repeated today
by Sanjay Chetty on Apr 01, 2009 11:04 AM  | Hide replies

If you want to punish today's brahmins for their ancestors' deeds in the past, then what is the difference between brahmins of the past and dalits of today? How can these secular messiahs claim moral high that they seem to stand for, when they are doing the very same mistake brahmins did in the past? Over last 50 years, we had reservation. Still, we have people who wants themselves to be listed as backward caste and get the shortcut to reach high! Remember Rajastan? It can happen only in India! Helping all to acquire skills to survive is important. Not to survive through short cuts and at other's expense.

Today the brahmins have become the dalits of the past infact worst.Have our politicians on a constant basis increasing the reservations solved the problem of social equality. What has not been achieved in the last 50 years I dont think we can achieve in the next 500 years also.Is it social justice to push the brahmins backwards.
Get away with reservations on cast basis and get reservation only for economically backward citizens irrespective of caste.
I am sure the politicians would not prefer this because of vote bank politics.
Let's face it reservation has made the so called backward caste lazy and have started taking things for granted.

You have superficial knowledge of social injustice and appropriate intervention strategies by a welfare state. When people are so much obsessed with their high caste what do you expect. You won't let lower caste men sit along side with you even if he has money in his pocket. Reservation is to solve a social issue and not an economic issue. How many of us agree to get their sons and daughters married to a low caste boy or girl. If you start doing that there will be no 'PURE' thing and every one would be equal. If you can't do that then stop writing here as reservation is going to continue and nothing can be done about it. Lets not waste time on this.

If people are obsessed with high caste, and you still have caste based reservations, and more people queuing up for being listed as backward, when will this end?! At the same time you want them to be categorized as backward, earn the benefits and then want to be treated as high! How is that possible? First step to come out of backward vs forward caste is to remove these categories. Not by arranging marriages between forward and backward castes!

Do you think the backward people are getting the respect because of the reservation? Caste feeling will not stop. Reason is, today caste is not to discriminate people. Many of people's culture is linked with their respective castes. Nobody will give up for the sake of the so called secularism.

fooling this countrymen for generations
by Down Upside on Apr 01, 2009 11:03 AM  | Hide replies

The so called minority bhahmins had been fooling this countrymen for generations and will use the ignorant dalits to be in control of the nation. That is the reason they proclaim loudly for culture & religion and had & will not do anything for education & upliftment of dalits. They enjoy the life as slave masters & the current awakening among dalits has scared them a lot.

I am a Brahmin. Tell me what is the definition of a slave and a master. I do my daily pooja to God for giving me whatever he has given me. Is this mastery? I take care of my family by earning and working honestly at my daily job. Is this mastery? Just like all other people in India do, we also have a maid servant for washing clothes / cleaning utensils etc. She does so honestly and we give her daily breakfast (which no one incidentally does in our apt in Bangalore which she herself has said). Is this we Brahmins slaving her? When I was a kid my Dad used to earn Rs 500 per month in his Govt job and we were a family of 7 (my uncle, my aunt, my grandparents included) My Dad did his govt job honestly and I worked hard to complete my engg (when so many SC/ST/NTsOBCs who secured far less marks than me got in thru reservation. And many of those dropped out after first year). Is this mastery? By God's grace I got a good enough job and we are doing well now. So tell me where is mastery and slavery in a Brahmin's life? I am a proud Brahmin and I want to ensure that I take care of my family 100% just like my father did. So Mr "Down Side" please explain where is Mastery and slavery in all this? If leading a normal life being a Brahmin is mastery and slavery, then Mr Down Side you have got all the basics of life wrong. Clean your head up!
