Reservation does more harm that good. There should be no reservation for nobody based on caste or family name. There is a limited requirement for reservation for the poor in colleges and universities but not caste. Reservation is making India uncompetitive, if India becomes uncompetitive- its the poor of India who will ultimnately suffer. And reservation based on caste for political gain by some, will make the same people on reservation poorer. Venkataraman Shekher is just playing politics.
is a one off case. In the last 60 yrs, we never asked for reservations, nor whined for any. We took it with a pinch of salt and moved ahead. If govt jobs closed doors, pvt jobs opened theirs. Right from our childhood, we are thought the importance of education and strive to be on the top in every field. We hone our skills, sharpen our brains and strive to stay on the top of the food chain. Our loss is playing to our own advantage. Wake up my reserved category friends, all those 'cake walk jobs' in govt offices are making you lax in discharging your duties. The competetive spirit is dying. Open your eyes!

Right from Aryan Age you guys sharpened your cunning brains & invented 3 Lakh Gods so that You can feed yourselves off the hard work of others.You prevented Dalits from access to education, temples, drinking water. you appropriated huge amount of land as grants from foolish rulers where you made lower caste people slave for peanuts..yet you called them untouchable..a touch would pollute you & u have to take bath in Gangajal.you wont eat with them ,you wont drink with them .....you gave them the names Mleccha,chamar,achut ..no wonder you stayed ahead of the food chain... now times are changing & you wake up. & you wont get any reservations even if you demanded it.

hahaha, i can only pity you, axe. Is it sense or logic to punish the family members if you cant catch the culprit? in that way all the family members of the convicts or accused should be culled first. As far as the cunning part is concerned, you left us no choice. I have to be cunning to eke out a living. I have to stay sharp, claw my way through to just feed myself and my family. and I AM LOVING IT!

I am belong to SCaste. I support reservation for Brahmins. But the 7% is not correct ratio. The non-brahmins who are more than 98% of the population get only 69% reseravtion in total. With my current knowledge about brahmins population, I think Brahmins can be alloted only 1% reservation.

Read article & comments carefully. Most of the Brahmins would not demand reservation, but only for POOR not based on CASTE. ANYONE scoring 95% in any level & BPL should be eligible for free education. Education till high school should be free & same for ALL citizens. No disparity like CBSE, state board, etc.
I personally came in contact with his social activities in 2006; Especially giving unclaimed bodies a honourable end. It is a wonderful gesture from a humble man.
In my opinion people of VERY LOW QUALITY ONLY demand reservatins. Rajiv Gandhi said in Australia that Australian government did a lot to improve the lot of "backward" people there (he meant Aboriginies). Australian government supported by aboriginies demanded an apology. Rajiv gave it.

If DMK gives reservation to brahmins it means they are insutling leaders like Ambedkar,periyar who fought for the rights of opporsed classes.then dmk cant and will not get a single seat in both assembly as well as lok sabha.

You are thinking wrong my friend !! Ambedkar did not fought for lower cast or community. He wanted then to be a part of mainstream. "Reservations" in ambedkar terms is to promote lower cast people to come in mainstream and that too it was for 10 years. He never wanted to propose the concept RESERVATION. THis shit concept is originated through MANDAM AYOG and associated politicians to use and get profits for their own purpose amongs internal community differences

There are so many communities agitating for reservations that in future only a few communities will be left without reservation. What we need are not reservations but socaial equality. Let us have reservations based only on economic basis and irrespective of religion or community. While Varun is booked for alleged anti-muslim comments why Mayavati is not booked for causing inter-caste clashes by calling brahmins in derogatory terms as "manuvadis" and why not communists booked for causing inter-class clashes between workers and industrialists? Does supreme court or election commission need some one's filing a complaint for taking note of these socially disturbing trends.It appears these so so called exalted institutions take undue interest only in particular cases and where money and muscle power are involved.
Observing of what's going on in this discussion, I want my fellow indians to understand that Brahmins are not at all a superior force today, in terms of wealth or any other thing. These days the reality is that they are suffering by the sidelining done by other castes by ways of so called reservations in independent India. So, lets be united in cribbing the political forces about the tactics they do for vote bank politics. Let the smartest people, caste no bar, shine by getting enough benefits from the Govt.
Hope the message is well understood by the audience....and especially the Govt of India!

I appreciate it brother, but these all are poolitical issues. Our great neta's encash these issue and we Janta just trusting them blindly.
Everyone who is not capable MUST get govt help or reservation not cast-wise.
