words that are to be condemned.
by Ramanthan on Apr 08, 2004 06:22 PM

Mr. Vaiko is behaving like a real politician - backstabbing others after being with them for many years. I thought Vaiko is a reasonable person in Politics but he has proved otherwise. All these people who claim to be secular bash just Hindus and their sacred books. Can they utter similar words again other religions? These people should be told secualr implies respecting all religions and their holy books as well. Vedas will certainly inculcate discipline in one's life and morality as well (these anyway not present in politicians). Though Vaiko does not deserve jail treatment he has to change his stance (in supporing terrorists) that are detrimental to the country.

Pot calling the kettle black

Dear Mr Vaiko,

I have been born & brought up in Tamil Nadu . I have a few questions for you if you may choose to answer them

1. After enjoying 5 years in the ministry why is it only now you say NDA is communal ?

2. Is communalism only restricted to Hinduism? Dont you think by preaching Dravidian philosophy you are being communal too in another form?

3. Why does not economic growth ever bother you? Do people want development & have two sqaure meals a day or only look your Dravidian principles & stay hungry? Dont say that NDA does not score on this front relatively?

4. What have you or your ministers done for the economic development of the country all these years?

It is easy to call the kettle black Mr Vaiko. We deeply regret your bad treatment in jail but ask yourselves this question Why would Sonia Gandhi want to align herself to your principles that is pro-terrorism whose outfits were responsible for her husband's life?

This gentleman who is championing the cause of TAMIL, is a telugu lad. His mother tongue is TELUGU. you can now understand how these pseudos change colors for political gains. He now talks about Dravidian movement and denouncing vedas. I urge every soul who is passionate about our mother-land to treat such people, and the likes, with a long, heavy stick.

Dear Mr Vaiko,
What do you know abt the vedas for you to comment on it? Who are you to say that veda patashalas should not be established and that it is horrible? Do you know how sacred the vedas are to the hindus? Will you do the same ridiculing the Quran if our muslim friends established madarasas? India is a secular country and theoretically doesnt believe in religion intefering with governance. But every person has his right to believe in what he wants to (that includes you too!).I had great respect for your thoughts and views on the govt but please do not hurt the sentiments of the majority hindus. You dont have the right to do that.Infact the hon'ble erstwhile CM of tamil nadu a messrs Karunanidhi et al has always bashed hindus and hindu beliefs baselessly. Is this his/your concept of a secular country where one particular community is targetted for no particular reason?
If you are against bigotry, thats there in any society, be it Indian,American or hindu,muslim,christian,jewish.....
Please refrain from making acidic remarks centering on a community.you are a tamil leader with mass following.yor remarks need to be responsible, not otherwise!
Thanks and Regards

I am with you Anandh, but I do not agree that ripen and intelligent politicians like Mr. Vaiko do not know about Vedas, he must be knowing about Vedas, So do the Microsoft Word which corrected my spelling when I typed it wrongly. He is just making his allies like DMK happy by speaking against Vedas thats all. I do really admire Mr. Vaiko since he is an alternative other than DMK and ADMK leaders and he is learned and intelligent, but when he starts to separate Vedas from Dravidians, it wont take much time to separate a state from a country, hope you know what I am telling, Vedas belong to India and Indians, every Indian must respect and know its rich knowledge. So Mr.Vaiko First be Indian, then be your Dravidian, don't try to throw away Vedas, then some company in US will patent things in it and say they found things that we havent found, same case of basmati rice and turmeric.

Lets have a change
by Venkat on Mar 19, 2004 12:05 PM

Very nice interview and which brought out what politicians really thinking; as everyone knows Mr. Vaiko is a good lawyer, so he has spoken cleverly in this interview. Here are my thoughts regarding these politicians. First Lets come out of the Dravidian stuff, we need to think new and bring new stuff into peoples life, since world is changing, we need to change too, lets not stop in silly Cinema Politics and Word War Politics, lets do a Action Politics where real action happens.Dravidian stuff is old, too old now, lets stop it. Second Regarding Dynasty politics, people who tasted the richness in politics will try to make their generations to enjoy it. The Dynasty politics will be irreversible when time goes by. This means we may never see a good politician who comes out of middle of people, rather than who comes out of Air-conditioned rooms and Imported cars their parents who are politicians gave them. This will also change when every member in a political party starts thinking indivudually about his duties (which is suppose to be serving people) rather than saying yes to whatever his MASTER says.
