I think all BRC matches have been fixed post Petersion exit. Mallaya showed his magic for his team. it is a mallaya show rather than RCB show. Guys, even mallaya sponsoring Deccan Team also. it is a double victory for him that both RCB and DC played each other and qualied finally, what a great moment for mallaya. Hope, Both the teams will be scrowed uo in the semis

Teams at the bottom
by Rahul Banerjee on May 22, 2009 01:17 AM  Permalink

Teams famous for their celebrity owners are at the bottom (only exception is Bangalore!! Only four teams can fit in the last four spots!!). Spirit of cricket should prevail. Good luck top four teams.

Regionalism
by Balaji Chandrasekaran on May 21, 2009 11:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Looking at posts that say South Indians screwed Northies or that North India rocks while SOuth India sucks, I am getting the feeling that India is falling apart and will in no time become another USSR. Do we need all this? Our biggest strength is the diversity. We need to preserve and appreciate this. Can we, for once, forget all this regionalism and unite and support India in the upcoming T20 world cup. I feel that is more importand than this petty IPL.

Balaji,
It is alright to feel all that as long as we talk in jovial tone. I am sure all of these people will unite once it comes to match played between India and x country. I am being over optimistic about this, but that is how it should be atleast.

Who says our biggest strength is diversity. Tell me one instance when being diverse has worked to our advantage? just because it is written in our text books does not make it so. Wake up !

Truely said Balaji..!! Till we are having this feeling of north Indian - south Indian (or any other regionalism), we are not going to progress. We will just keep on counting names from the regions rather trying to show our capabilities. We will more try to show regionalism than being more productive. Everyone has his strength and capabilities and it should only be shown by work an dnot by such words. This is not only for north-soth Indians but also on world level. Try to change urself and then u can see that u r more productive.

"We will more try to show regionalism than being more productive"-- read it other way in the above blog..-- we need to be more productive and shd not show regionalism.leave it for the politicians only.

I fully agree with this gentleman.IPL is fine, but this feeling of regionalism must go.Whoever is trying to divide us on any basis, cast, community, religion or region is our enemy and not an Indian. We have to remain united on every circumstance.
