Bengal

Now we will have to wait for at least another 10 years to see a good player from Bengal.

I think we should make a team out of all retired people, starting from Sunil Gavaskar. Right?

Very well put!

Dravid and Kumble have every right to move on respectfully. But Sackhim even lost that sort of credibility to quit.

Cheers!

He won't. Geoff Boycott has rightly said that Indian players are sticking on so that they can get endorsements.

World's second best
by Anang on Oct 07, 2008 07:58 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Problem with Ganguly is that he played in Indian team when Tendulkar was also playing. People critisize him, but he is the world's second best batsman. Batsman should be in the team for his performance and not age. Last year he was one of the best one day batsman, but somehow Vengserkar had something against him

Should have been dropped long time back
by Vivek Dev on Oct 07, 2008 07:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Does anyone remember the atrocious behavior of this guy when he refused to obey the orders of Captain Rahul Dravid and coach Greg Chappel and created a scene? Any other player without the clout of Saurav would have been rightly banned for life for indiscipline. But thanks to the media support the incindent was given a quiet burial and the man went on to score his labored 20s, and 30s for years.

It was Greg Chappel - the worst coach ever, who is still in Jaipur. Does India pay better salary than they get in Australia?

congractulations dada for respecting the edge factor but he should not wait for aussi4-0?
by pravin sarode on Oct 07, 2008 07:55 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

congractulations dada for respecting the edge factor but he should not wait for the aussi
series to end he should retire immediately to avoid 4-0 white wash so people from all world
will salute dada. dada has made life time blunder by winning toss & fielding first on 23-3-2003
so ye dada hai akkal ka aadhaa. i advice dada to stop fooling around & retire immediately now
he does not deserve to play even bangalore test also instead s badrinath will score better
dada will always be rememberred for his chutyagiri of winning the toss & fielding first in
the final of world cup on 23 march 2003 at johnsberg. the same abusement applies to sachin too
even iron man of india sardar wallabhbhai patel said i am iron man but iron got some rust so
these fab 5 must respect the law of nature that young replace old & retire after each test so
that aussi series will be end of cricketing carreer for fab 5 and new generation will be free
to do naked dance as per my own worst case analysis & dhoni's statements but dada do not play
any test retire immediately on viewing this comments. dada u will not die hungry if not
selected; so give some employement to young genious players who really deserve to play tests
next sachin after bangalore test, dravid 2nd, laxman third & anil after 4-0 white wash in end?
it is hopping against hope that these money minded fab 5 will do the best so it is better to put them in the history & most importantly they will not die hungry if not selected now?

Saurav has enough money to keep Chappel as his servant. He is not playing for money. Players like him (I even saw Kapil playing way past his prime) has passion for the game and they can't quit the game. We will never truly understand why despite every moron demanding Kapil's retirement Kapil played the ODI (against Srilanka as far as I remember) in Hero Cup with painkilling shots in his right shoulder.

Its best that mortals leave the decision making to the players and stop acting as if we are the best judge of the game and the players performance and quality.
