BENGAL AGAIN DENIED AND PERSISTENTLY SO
by Good People on May 30, 2008 05:57 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

As per the report Yusuf Pathan,Pragyan Ojha and Suresh Raina were included for the good show in the ongoing IPL but did'nt Saurav play his part.
Secondly Manoj Tewary was barely given a chance or two and they have decided that he is not fit. This is something bizzare that has been going on and persistently so. Understood you have given the youngsters the chance but certainly hope that Saurav's performance was not the factor for him being barred. And poor Manoj has to still to wait for his turn.
Interestingly how come Swapnil Asnodkar was neglected inspite of his dazzling performance. When will some sense prevail within BCCI....GOD knows.

correction. tiwari was in delhi team.
however, ganguly himself didnt select his own local boys for his kkr team. in fact, 5-6 talented players were dropped and asked to leave the team and were refrained from having to share the dressing rooms of greats.

What a selection !!!!
by sourav - saha on May 30, 2008 05:55 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why the selectors are ignoring the player whose avg is more than 41 in entire ODI career? Is it a decision not to take senior players or to be the yes man of Mr. Dhoni? I think performance was not the most important issue while selecting the Indian team... if it's so then they could take Gony,Venugopal,Shikhar dhawan also.....isn't it.....

RE:What a selection !!!!
by Ajay Singh on May 30, 2008 06:01 PM  Permalink
well the player you are talking about, his NET avg is less than 25. take is gross batting avg of 41. Now when he bats he doesnt take singles for his partners so that -10. he also gives close to 15 runs on the field as he is the worst fielder in the world. hence his net avg is 41-10-15 = 26 ! and i have not yeh included the catches he drops. yeah on top of that you could add the dirty politics he plays !

Boss... take back your words...
You can't accuse the national team's captain of playing politics..
Dhoni will really be upset at you if you ever meet him in any press conference..

good selection
by Vilas Sood on May 30, 2008 05:51 PM  Permalink

everyone is saying that such n scuh player is close to dhoni thats why they r in team!! Come on guys give these players some due respect.. they have been doing good for the nation.. every1 has bad matches or series.. so if rp singh or praveen kumar had bad IPL season, they still deserve a place in the team on basis of their performance in just concluded series in england, against pak and in Australia... Always complaining against the selectors becoz their fav players are nt selected.. If dhoni was so biased dont u think he shud ve selected gony, badri, parthiv in the team?? If selection is the only criteria to play then 2moro noone will play in CSK team except raina n dhoni...

Good team selected

I think selectors have done a fair job...the 15 look among best we can have. Though I think any of Venugopal, Badrinath, Shikhar dhawan, Ramesh Powar could have also been considered but nevertheless it is still good selection. Wonder where is Zaheer Khan?

Zaheer still does not find himself fit enough to represent the national side. If selectors really feel like giving chance to youngsters then I think Yuraj and Sehwag should have given way to Dhawan and Asnodkar. Always keeping out Dada and Dravid for the sake of rotation is unfair.

Missing Venugopal Rao...........
by Ashish on May 30, 2008 05:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If the selection is based on IPL performance then Venugopal Rao should hav been given preference over Robin Utthapa.

I am not Criticizing selection committee but looking at Venugopal Rao's form in IPL, he should have been given a chance.

but, still a good team selection..

Best of luck Indiaaaaaaaaa
