instead of robin uthappa, parthiv patel should have been better choice as he is not only a batsmen but also a excellent wicket keeper to give some coshion to dhoni

dinesh karthik is total flop in ipl only one match he played better dont keep on saying wht abt dinesh karthik
Just played one match in Aus Tri-series; Manoj Tiwary of Kolkata gets dropped from Indian ODI squad. I think like Dada refused to carry Azhar's bag in 1992, Manoj Tiwary has been victimised by Dhoni for some such silly thing. It is unfortunate for this right hander and marvellous fielder, who has performed better than the Rainas, Utthapas & Pathans in domestic cricket but overlooked just coz he comes from Kolkata. He is a class number 3 and could have blossomed into a great stroke-maker but for the politics in Indian team selection where the top guy gets raw deal just because he comes from Bengal (and he is not a Bengali).

Tiwary was a last minute addition for injured yuvraj singh. he was never in the reckoning for the top 15 players.. he has done nothing good in the IPL also for DDD.

good..now ur playing the below poverty line card next time u will say he is from OBC/BC...
It is really sad that Ganguly and Dravid known for their good captaincy and batting have been left out again for the forthcoming ODI series. There is no logic in their ommission. I understand that young blood needs to be selected, but at the same time you cannot ignore both of these classy players. Ganguly has won more matches next to Sachin Tendulkar in ODI's for India and Dravid too has been a great asset. Remember Dravid had taken to wicket - keeping just to accomodate an extra batsman in the 2003 WC and that uis the reason we reached the finals. Just tell can any player in the current lot have the guts to do the same or sacrifice like this for the team. Dravid and Ganguly have done lot for the team but our selectors don't seem to understand the same. With just a few season left to retire for these legends, selectors should have chosen a honourable exit for them. They are simply not embarassing just those but even the game of cricket. Ganguly and Dravid's experience would have come really handy in Pakistan. How come Uthappa, Sreesanth and Yuvraj singh have been selected. Sreesanth is not fit for ODI cricket, yuvraj has been a big show-off and Uthappa is aan useless players. At least Gony and Badrinath should have been given a chance.

past is past...why you pple always speaking records made by these great players...at present the scenario is changed and we need only players who can play not stars or dadas or walls or stylish ones.

So Yuvi and Dhoni should be the first ones out.. :-) Asnodkar, Takwale, Dinda, Yomahesh, Gony... we have a whole bagful... Why do we need these million dollar jokers Dhoni and company?.. ;-)

Like Gangully & Dravid, Kapil Dev & Ravi Shastri had also done a lot for Indian cricket team. So shall we recall them too.
Just understand one thing mate... ODI & T20 is about young & energetic blood & not for old horses who have already ran a lot.
If sacrifce was the case players like Ajay Jadeja, Novjyot Singh Siddhu, etc. too were sacrified when young Gangully's & Dravid's were accomodated in team few years ago...

Mr All Right you have got All Wrong. Please change your name. For the test team also these guys should be dropped. Please give chance to others. They have made enough.
can u pl stop this bak bak man coming on tv and giving his useless views which has got no meaning since he was the biggest flop and he pretends he does not understand hindi ,public does not get impressed with his stupid humour .
pl stop this parasite of tv to give his comments as we want to watch sensible cricket rather then flop stars like arunlal ,shrikant, shivramkrishna

Srikanth was the one who started this pinch hitting in the initial overs when no field restrictions....he is not a good commentator for sure..but he was a good and fearless cricketer...

Yes! This is THE Team for ODI. I think wisdom has prevailed on the Selectors after lot flip flop in the past. Congrats! Only 20s should be included in 20-20 and ODI teams. Even Sachin is no longer fit to be included.

Perhaps Uthappa or Yuvi know how to do that?.. :-)
Oldies like - Yuvraj, Sehwag if they don't play well in coming series we have players like Abhishker Nayar, Gony, Asnodkar. and selecors should show courage to send these oldies out, if they don't play well and should show consistency other wise they 2 good innings and 10 bad will not be accepted now
RE:Time to replace few more oldies
by vadivel suresh kumar on May 30, 2008 05:07 PM Permalink
Have you seen matches in IPL. Did you see how yuvraj and sehwag played. If you think yuvraj and sehwag is oldies, you can ask your kid to play for India. DONT WRITE WHATEVER YOU THINK
RE:RE:Time to replace few more oldies
by All Right on May 30, 2008 05:09 PM Permalink
Why so irritated? As for Yuvi, he hasn't done much except strutting about the field and blasting the sub prime RR attack in the last match... Sehwag played well, but you can't deny he is 30 plus... by the token you blast Sachin, you should also blast Sehwag..
RE:Time to replace few more oldies
by vinod sawhney on May 30, 2008 05:06 PM Permalink
it is not easy to write off the oldies becuase experience that counts the most cannot be brought in the new faces, The young one's requires the guidenace of oldies to be settled in the team.

yes, sehwag had a long rope. He should be dropped permenantly if he is inconsistent.

Yuvi perhaps has been given the worst possible treatment for a long time?.. :-) If Sehwag already given a long rope, in your dictionary, has Yuvi begun to even get the strand of a thread? ;-)

manoj is not capable of handling international pressure. he is only domestic player like aakash chopra, amol muzumdar, shivsunder dass.

How do you know he's not capable of handling international pressure if you haven't even given him proper chances?.. :-)
Perhaps you think Yuvi is able to handle international pressure the way he handled it in the last Aussie tour?.. :-)
Keep it up... your judgment of human character and cricketing skills is simply fabulous.. ;-)
