CHARU IS A LEGEND: SALUTE HIM
by Apna HillathaeRao on Jun 06, 2008 12:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Charu is former swimmer and diver who represented India in the Asian games.

CVharu did all his traing for swimjming and diving on Railway bridge across River Ganga in Allahabad. With every passing train the passengers make some offerings to the sacred river. Charu learnt his diving there.

However Charu's greatness knows no bounds.

Mallya got it right, but only partly..
by nitin k on Jun 06, 2008 12:38 PM  Permalink

For once, Mallya got Royally fooled! :-)
Dravid and Charu got a winning team, but only for tests.. Rahul undoubtedly got class players.. but he failed to recognize that there wasn't much time for his "class" players to adapt to T20 cricket! And the players he selected were not going to grow younger and stronger, neither was he.. The moment he selected his team, he was doomed to lose out in the first few games of the tournament, which is exactly what happened there.

Mallya would know the importance of leadership.
The CEO should know that he was not appointed for nothing!

If Charu was sacked, why was Harsha Bhogle not sacked??
by David Coverdale on Jun 06, 2008 12:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If BRC could sack Charu Sharma, why did Mumbai Indians not sack Harsha Bhogle??

After all, Harsha was paid a bomb to be a strategist for Mumbai Indians but failed miserably as MI were knocked out in the qualifying stage itself??

Which proves that Dr Mallya was too harsh with Charu and was looking for scapegoats...Charu was made a scapegoat, thats all....not a reflection on Charu's perofrmance!!

Charu and his words
by Street Knight on Jun 06, 2008 12:24 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I reaqlly pity him. When the franchisee of Chennai paid Dhoni Rs. 6 crores, Charu Sharma commented where will they keep their face if Dhoni scores ducks. Little did Charu realise, what is in store for him. Moral of the story is do not pass comments on others, just because you are entitled to give an opinion.

Charu does not need aapologists like you . Dhoni did fail in some matches and in the end his 6 crore did not get the trophy to Chennai.

However the moot point is are you an employee of United Breweries or did you consume too much of UB' products.

Charu is above all this pettiness that defines you Mr. Street Walker.

Charus is the best thinker of this time, He is ARISTOTLE of cricket.

Ya! what uhav said is absolutely correct..

Charu should check on his own credibility than to comment on Dhoni getting 6 Cr or a duck.

Atleast Dhoni has kept his name and have proved tha the is worth of 6 Cr.

Even during the final IPL match conversation in TIMES NOW Channel, all the three useless(Charu, Mandira and Vinod Kamble) have spoken ill of Dhoni and the Chennai Super Kings teams as if they were brilliant.

Y didn't Vinod kamble proved his mettle when he was playing fro India. He was riding on the shoulders of Sachin.

Better Charu hang himself.

Dhoni will win 2011 WC for India singlehandedly!!
by David Coverdale on Jun 06, 2008 12:16 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

MS Dhoni will singlehandedly win the WC for India in 2011 and also the ICC champions trophy in 2008.....

India will rule the cricketing world in ODIs and 20-20 for many years now...we have an invincible team now with Yousuf Pathan, Raina and Rohit Sharma knocking on the doors...in bowling we have Manpreet Goni, Munaf Patel and Sidahrth Trivedi if the frontline of Sreesanth, Zaheer and RP loses form.....

There is too much talent and this talent will ensure that no one will touch us now for a few years!!

3 cheers to Indian cricket and 3 cheers to Lalit Modi for coming out with such a wonderful innovative concept called IPL....

David Coverdale please do not digress we are talking about Charu . Please do not bring petty cricketers in here. I am reiterating my last message.

Charu is the best thinker of our times. Any other country he would be heading the intellectual renewal of the society. If only we all help him he will transform not only India but the whole world.

Anjum Chpora a leading women cricketr from India has always said Charu is like Krishna of this this generation I thinks Vishnu's 10th incarnatuion is here in the form of Charu.

by All Right on Jun 07, 2008 08:26 AM  Permalink
Yeah David:

That's precisely why Dhoni has already declared that he does not require anyone to go with him to the 2011 WC.

For the first time in the history of the cricket game (not just world cup history) we are going to see a super man called Dhoni who will come up running to bowl, then after delivering the ball, he'll run faster than the ball and stand behind the wicket to take the catch in case the batsman offers a snick.
In case the batsman hits towards the boundary, he'll proceed straight away from behind the wicket to stop the ball, throw it to the bowler's end, again run faster than the ball, catch it just above the stumps, and run the batsman out..
:-)
Yes David... Dhoni is "single handedly" going to win us the 2011 world cup.. :-)
By the way, do shut off that bed room light when you do wake up from your dream..

Very well put Charu!!
by David Coverdale on Jun 06, 2008 12:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Couldn't have put it better....eloquently and lucidly expressed!!

Owning a cricket team is not like owning a corporate SBU...in a corporate setting, the CEO/owners are in direct control of resources and resource allocation....when it comes to cricket, the franchise owners and the CEO can only watch from the sidelines and thus the result is not in their hands..

All the rules of corporate setting cannot be applied to a cricketing field!!

Once again, well put Charu and sure you will find a bigger role in the future in the IPL!!

Absolutely I agree with Coverdale Saab completely. Charu's fame knew no boundaries.

Even Don Badman told his wife that Charu speaks very much like Don in his youth. Don Bradman called Charu to celebrate Dons' B'day with himin Australia.

Charu is DONBRADMAN of eloquence.

Bill Clinton learnt all his oratorial skills from Charu Sharma. However Charu continued teaching Oratorial skills to all the white house staff during Clinton's time. Charu left a very lasting and indeliable impression on enite US and the world.

RCB
by Avinash Kadam on Jun 06, 2008 12:07 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Frankly, if there was one team which lived up to the expectations, it was RCB. Nobody expected them to win and they obliged by giving a real bad time to the King of good times.

Anyways, IPL is all about instant gratification. So,Charu had to go.

Charu want Dravid under hammer as well
by Master on Jun 06, 2008 11:29 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Read between lines.
1) Charu mentioned that he only supported Dravid.
2) Charu mentioned that apart from 45 days of play, he has too many other things to do as CEO.
3) Charu feels he is victimised, as the Test Team selection is made in insistence of Captain Dravid.
Hence he is indirectly demanding SACKING of Dravid.

Dear Mas Saab

Why read between the lines when the writing is on the wall.

After all this Charu's reputaion has been tarnished. Mallya has used Charu as Indian use wall. Charu's reputaion has been vandalised.

IPL has left a very ugly GRAFITTI ON THE WALL as well.

Royal Sinking
by SK on Jun 06, 2008 11:28 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Royal Challengers management need to learn from the way Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings were managed. Never once the owners fiddled with the team, even if they lost matches.

You put together a team, put people in charge of running it, trust them through the season and see how they perform. With full management backing, the teams will get confidence and come to winning ways.

Alas the unfortunate tug of war in the RC camp meant battle was lost already before the games were played out completely.

I think more than anybody else, Mallya has a lesson or two to learn.

There was more politics here than what meets the eye. The KSCA chairman Srikanta Datta Wodeyar was supported by Mallya in the KSCA elections. This did not go down well with the KSCA secretary Brijesh Patel and their camp which was opposite to Mallya's camp in the KSCA elections. This resulted in no facilities being provided to the RCs here. The only option Mallya had was to rope in Brijesh Patel and boot out somebody. Charu had not done anything great to hold his position and he got sacked.
