Matthew Hayden ...
by RajneeshChandraMohan Jain on Jan 23, 2008 10:08 PM  | Hide replies

If age is a bar, Matthew Hayden shouldn't be Aussie team.

If a man is 60 years old, and can hit the ball to boundary line consistently, why not .. get him in the team.

I appreciate your point. Why repeatedly "age" remark is circulating in media? I think it is a slow poisioning from advertising world. Think about S. Jaisuriya - there is no problem in their country.

Age is just an excuse for these selectors and particularly.. DHONI.... seems Dhoni is responsible for draging cricket into INDIA's WORST POLITICS.. so He will be the sufferer in future... Be careful and play natural game and make ur repu... like all indian legends like sachin ,kapil , gavaskar, the wall'Drivid' etc etc.. else u get sweeping job in Vengsarkar's house...(DHONI)

Team selection
by Unni Krishnan on Jan 23, 2008 08:35 PM  | Hide replies

Mr. Kumble is correct. The selectors are doing stupid things. Why can%u2019t they wait until the final and crucial test match is over? This will badly affect the moral of the players who omitted from one dyer. They did the same thing in previous years too. Are they doing a great thing to Indian Cricket than the players?

Unprofessional Excuse: No interest in senior players
by dhaval patel on Jan 23, 2008 08:22 PM

Tell me at what age players debuts in Australia and other team almost after 26 or 28.
And if this is the case they should take Parthiv Patel in place of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.....
who is going to be a future for indian cricket for next 15 years for sure......
Cricket is not all about Physics .. its combination of maturity physics confidence.
If they want to try younger player they should try them in india first.

Still as a INDIAN our wishes are always with them. Hope They Perform well. Jai Hind.

Vengsarkar's selection biases
by Sashi Rao on Jan 23, 2008 08:18 PM

I used to admire Vengaskar during his playing days. But he ahs now lost all respect in my book. His "khunus" against Dravid and Ganguly and Laxman stems from the fact that they will be better remembered for their deeds in Indian cricket then himself.Isnt Dravid the best ever number 3 batsman that India has produced !This particularly hurts Vengaskar's ego.
While youth is the way to go forward, the graceless way it has been done and the awful timing is shocking.
Everybody knows why he cant explain the logic of his selections. To talk of dropping the big 3 as they have a only a few years to go is okay, but then why why the exception for Tendulkar ??? What is good for the goose should be the same for the gander !! Sadly, none of the big 3 left out are ----KARS. So you know what I mean !! Only saving grace that that Agarkar got sacrificed.

This is to force seniors to retire and join IPL
by True Indian on Jan 23, 2008 08:18 PM

This will be a better deal for BCCI as IPL unfolds next month. If few of the seniors retire and join it, it will be a bonanza for them. Pawar is certainly a crook manager of BCCI

When will BCCI learn ?
by Susobhan Ghosh on Jan 23, 2008 08:03 PM

Any good management should think seriously before announcing the players for the upcoming ODI series about the effect on the players who would be dropped in the ODI series, specially when these are the key players for the success of the Adelaide test. It is surprising to see that Vengsarkar and companies do not understand this simple human side of the job they are doing. BCCI management (we may call them owner) including Sharad Pawar, Niranjan Shah, et. al. should have some judgement of running an organization like BCCI. BCCI is goofing up in all management decisions, such as selection of coaches, duties of selection committee chairman, selection of players, handling players like Munaf Patel, Sreesanth, hiring and evaluating physical trainers, arranging schedules of games, and basically all other activities of BCCI. It is obvious that they are very happy of the profits that they are making and patronizing each others pocket very well.

It is about time that the cricket fans should show their dissatisfaction regarding the transparencies in the selection process, awarding compensations to players, officials, and money spent on the cause of cricket in India. Dhoni is a good young player, but he does not have the materials and experience to identify the qualities of individual players, and command respect of peer group. He was named as the captain before being groomed for the position, and that has resulted an unpleasant attitude, and will be propagating soon in the tea
