One day team
by SUSHIL GUPTA on Jan 23, 2008 02:08 PM

For the last many days I am going thru the newspapers, TV and everywhere it is mentioned that we are preparing the team for future. Surprisingly nobody is thinking for the present. our present team and player juniour and seniors all are in good touch and the beast players should always be given a chance.

Being Indian my first view is to win the game whether it is new or old players. Let new players win the game they shall get a chance. Till the time a player is in good touch he shall be there in the team.

Kumble

kumble is more matured and a better croickteer than all the senior criketeers of the present and earlier teams. He is a gentleman to the core and an excellent captain and a team player. but selection of the india team is influenced by advertising and marketing industry and chaunistic attitude of the mmbers of the BCC. i wish the board learnt it's leson.

Well played India in the 3rd Test (it does pain me to say this) - outbowled and outbatted Australia comprehensively. I was at the game for two days and enjoyed the banter with Indian fans. Hopefully my lot can pull their heads out of their arses and knuckle down to some decent cricket after all the BS of the last couple weeks. Sharma looks like a real prospect - with RP Singh and Pathan (or that silly bugger from Kerala) Indian could well have the best pace attack in world cricket in the next couple of years.

Why isn't Kumble playing ODI's? Obviously a great bowler, good lower order bat and not the worse in the field.

I donot see any involvement of Board official in selection as separate commitee is there
During sharad pawars time we have won series in Englad & Windies which is achieved only once in 1971 that is 36 years.

Also we have won first T20 world cup and we defeated Aus in 20-20 once again.
We stopped Ausies record winning in test cricket in there country itself.

It isd great achivement by Sharad Pawr, selection commitee, Support team and Players.
We have lost home one-day series against Ausies with Ganguly playing.
Test form has nothing to do with Oneday ability.
Ranking of Indians on Current form in ODI.
Sachin- 7th rank
Yuvraj-12
Dhoni--17
Dravid-24
Sehwag-39
Ganguly-45
Young players are not ranked as they have not played enough matches.
Apart from that on large Ausies grounds you have run lot while batting as well as fielding.

Dravid was dropped a series earlier and Ganguly's One day form is very bad in last four series.
FutureCup 3matches- 73 RUNs-No-24.33 Avg--V BAD.
ENGLAND 7matches-249runs--35.57Avg--OK, NOT BAD
AUSIES 5matches-127 runs--31.75Avg-- BAD.
PAK---4 matches-89 Runs--22.25Avg--Very BAD.

Ganguly Scored 1245 runs last year. Highest by an Indian. He is second highest scorer in test in 2007 after Kallis. He has avergade above 55 in opening stand with sachin plus he had 10 100 opening partneships.

ODI Team Selection
by Hariharan on Jan 23, 2008 01:52 PM

Kumble seems to good captain both on and off the field. His entire career can be said to be the less controversial. He did had to swallow some of the decisions against him by selctors for selection in the past. Still he concentrated more and played with great passion. We should think that the ODI team selection ahead of the 4th test was actually a blessing for the axed seniors have got a chance to prove that they are the best and merely being young and athletic doesnt means that they are to be ignored. Had the ODI team was selected after 4th test and they are left out they had to wait for a long to prove the Selectors that they too belonged to instant cricket. So we can expect the best performance from the seniors who are axed.

Thinking of M.S. Dhoni is very lower. Dhoni ko sochana chahiye ki khud kaisa khel raha hai uska pardarshan to bahut hi gatia hai. dhoni ne kitne 100 & 50 banai hai or average kaisa hai. usko itna jaldi nahi bhulana chahiye ki usase jayada uska kismat hai varna uska pardarshan to gatia hai. janta ne usko palko par bitha rakha iska matlab yah nahi samje ki vah bhagwan hai. thode dhin or ruk jao Dhoni ji ek dhin apko bhi team india se bahar bethna padega.
Ok By........

Man it's not Dhoni's fault. Dhoni has to work according to the sschedules and plan of BCCI and selectors..and this all framing agaisnt Dhoni is a politics, not an inch lesser than that.
And Dhoni has proved himself very successful and able captain already. If you are so much supportive of Ganguly ask ICC to increase the teamsize to 50 players so that every ones favorite player is accomodated int he team!

Selectors have proved that they are external agent ready to undermine Indian Cricket
by Murli on Jan 23, 2008 01:51 PM

What was the need to selection in the mid of ongoing series?
Why not media leave the cricket?
Tomorrow if poor show is done by Indian cricket in Australia, for that BCCI and media will be 100% responsible as they have created controversy and distraction in the mind of Indian players....this sourav Dhoni bawal..do you expect now a normal cooperation to Dhoni by Sourav or his supporters in the team? What they got from thsi all? Disharmony and fluffy team again!
And so great is the Indian public who knows only star praying..Indians can't survive without stars becuase they are the people with maximum slave attitude...this is why this all drama is happening for Ganguly Dravid drop out .. every one wants hsi own player being given a place in the squad instead of wishing win for country..this is Indian attitude..slaves!

Once again it has been proved that selcetors/BCCI are bunch of jokers. First of all the timing is absolutely wrong. Secondly, how can the players who have been axed concentrate in the Fourth Test. Last, but not the least the Board has always has the tendency of embarrasing great players. Agreed Rahul and Sourav are not good runners, but atleast someone should have the courtesy of informing them the reason behind them being dropped. The most unfortunate part is that we have zonal system and corrupt politics due to which talented people are not selected, and players having sponsorship are selected. Who know when is all these rubbish things going to end. My suggestion to Sourav and Rahul is to take retirement from One day so that time and again they are not humilated. The time is right. Thank you Sourav and Rahul You have given has great time. We are sorry we cannot do any thing because of dirty politics in the Cricket Board full of people who work for their vested interested. During the last one day against Pakistan at Jaipur one of the board's guest had kept liquor on our Tricolour. But then these people do not have any respect for the country, they are only bother to satisfy their ego and take revenge against their opponents. The time has come we the public take Cricket Board to the court and teach them a lesson, before it gets to late. Let us form a forum agains these Corrupt Board officials and make them pay for their sins. If you agree with me, please mail me at reliable_b
