What is this fuss about?
by A Singh on Jan 19, 2008 05:33 PM  | Hide replies

We have just wone a cricket match. Even in the context of this series, we have just won the battle, and not the war.
Our cricket team has been showing patches of brilliance, but not consistently enough to be called a great team. It is unfair to compare our team with Australia, who have won 16 successive matches twice, and who knows their winning streak could begin again at Adelaide.

You are right but the euphoria is justified. What with the Sydney test where we played against 13 players and a lying and cheating captain, this was the best answer we could have expected. Let us hope that we will carry on from here. And yes, it would be foolish to write off Australia. They are an excellent team and add this to their cheating and intimidation of umpires and opposing team, they are very difficult to beat. And this is precisely why it gives us much more pleasure that we managed to beat them.

Bucknor is disappointed !
by madhumalati bhat on Jan 19, 2008 05:31 PM  | Hide replies

I am sure Bucknor would have seen this match and he must be terribly disappointed that he could not prevent India from winning ! He might as well fly back to Australia to console Aussies . Unofficial 'Man of the Series ' shall be Bucknor , for having changed the course of the whole Match ( crucial 2nd TEST )that too without being a player !

match fixed
by Nisha Singh on Jan 19, 2008 05:30 PM  | Hide replies

this match is fixed guys. Why the hell are u wasting ur time in going ga-ga over this facile "win".

If u want the evidence, its there right in fron of u guys and i m sure u have also noticed it also as well.

The body language if the aussies had been negative right from the first day of the match.
It looked as if they did not want to win in the first place. Even when they got the indians out, their celebrations were conpiciously muted. Why ? Why were they not thrilled at getting the idians out ???

And if u watch the horrible shots the aussies played i m sure u wont have any second thoughts abt their suspicious nature.
It was shocking to see so many aussie batters, with years of exp behind them and vast knowledge of local conditions, attempt such lame shots.

How come the famed aussie were to tamely edging the balls given that the aussie club side that we played against,ACT 11, were so comfortable with our bowling.

After seeing all this there should be no doubt in any sane person's mind as to the dubious nature of this match.

ya if the match was fixed then why could sachin spill such an easy catch of symonds at 3 in first innings and helps australia get 212 as symonds scored a fifty and helped aussies to 212

see the match and enjoy dont create ur own assumptions and spoil sport

And you sponsored whole aussie team to loose the game?. Could you share with us on how you sponsored them?. Sponsorship doesnt always has to come by money.

What I mean is, sponsorship can come by giving gifts, property or even by doing them (aussie plyares/officials) any other favour in exchange to loose a game against India.

I hope you are not a bookie.

India won because of Heroics, if you its not then share with us what happened with your sponsorship. You never know two of us can track the whole network of bookies if your story is to be believed.

Nisha , hope you are not releated to and /or trained by Bucknor because your judgement seems to be equally wrong like him ! Poor Body Language of Aussies was due to their immoral victory in the 2nd Test and vide critisisims which they received from most parts of the
' Cricket Playing & Loving Nations '. Even in their own Country , they were rightly termed as 'Wild Dogs' and many Aussies declared that they would not even cheer Aussies in this Game . Probably , these Aussies players would have lost many of their hard earned 'Fans', due to their manipulations in 2nd Test manipulations. These could have brought down their enthusiasm . We should not relate every thing with fixing .If Auusies had won , perhaps you would have still called this Game as a 'Fixed one '!

WHATS THERE TO CELEBRATE??
by wasym on Jan 19, 2008 05:30 PM  | Hide replies

Team india has definately won a good test match but they are no match for the incredible winning streaks of 16 test matches by austarlia.it is no dobut a celebration time for team india coz they have won just a test match against australia after 5 long years. It was not surprising to see kumble jumping like a kid coz it has become a habit for team india nad the indian media to present them as god after winning a test match. But the moment they are back to their loosing habits the media and the indian fans show their true colours.Let me remind u all that india has not won the test series infact they have lost the chance to win border and gavaskar trophy by loosing 2 matches and god knows what will happen in the last test match and the ODI series.STOP behaving as if india has never won a test match. There is nothing to celebrate until and unless india wins the ODI series.

MURALI VARMA
BEHAVIOUR OF CRICKETERS.
by MURALI VARMA on Jan 19, 2008 05:30 PM

Of late it is noticed that while playing cricket, the fielding team, especially bowlers, make claims very loudly and repeaatedly & in a heckling tone, some times forcing the umpires to give out. We can notice this as the umpires raise their finger after the bowler appeals repeatedly. This type of loud noices disturbs the batsmen.

The ICC should think of penalising this type of behavour and impose fines.

Readers, please respond.
