the win against australia doesnt prove anything... the umpires handed it to india by givng hussey and symonds out at crucial junctures... its undeserving
RE:not a deserved win
by Govind Raj on Jan 20, 2008 12:03 AM
This is the most Idiotic statement EVER. Hussy was out 4 times before he reached 60 at Sydney second innings. Symonds played 5 innings in the Sydney first innings.
Even at perth... Ishant Sharma got Ponting's wicket 4 times in the second innings only due to Billy Bowden. Sachin and Dhoni were ruled out wrongly during Indian first innings.
Mr. Sagar Raj... Even in this test... India got 6 wrong decisions against them [2 against batsmen and 4 against bowlers] and Aussies only 3. So India still were far better. The 9th wicket partnership went that far also because of Umpiring, even before they reached 20, Johnson was out LBW. But Bowden again refused it.
Get your facts right else don't make a fool of yourself.

hey man have you watched full match.. Hussey was out in the first over itself.. ricky ponting was out early.. but the umpires didnt gave then out.. Shut up your mouth even if you are not praising the indian team.. its all in the game..

by vishal on Jan 19, 2008 11:56 PM
same umpires gave our players out in similar way. So it was evened out and not like last match where errors were only against india.

by tanmoy on Jan 20, 2008 12:00 AM
sachin and rahul was out when they were below 20 in the 1st innings. The only decision which went against India was Sachin's out in 1st innings. But he was out twice before that.If umpires gave all the correct decisions India would allout within 200.So dont tell abt umpiring decision. They can make mistakes.Sometimes that went against u sometimes 4 u.And guys lets accept the fact,Its not other countries who get support from umpires, its also India. And the result was right in both Sidney and Perth test.

tanmoy~! ur right this is wat is called cricket! but we are all too nationalist and just wana win! on one account i was thinking that india won even if it was a draw people wud have criticsed the umpires! we just wana win by hook or by crook!
RE:not a deserved win
by Troll Patrol on Jan 20, 2008 12:08 AM
hook or crook? no that's how aussies wanna win, as has been amply demonstrated by them in the sydney test.
RE:not a deserved win
by tanmoy on Jan 20, 2008 12:13 AM
Troll, wrong decisions is wrong decision. In cricket 1 wrong decision can completely change the match.Remember sydney test and symonds wrong judgement. In Perth also,if Sachin and Dravid was given out, dont u think there would be too much pressure 4 India to handle. And we all know India cant cope with too much pressure. So guys plzz stop the comment here that India should lead the series 2-1 or something that.Umpires r human. So they can make mistakes.Today is the biggest day 4 Indians. So just enjoy that.
RE:RE:not a deserved win
by Troll Patrol on Jan 20, 2008 12:18 AM
"if Sachin and Dravid was given out..."
And if Ponting, Hussey, Johnson et al would've been given out rightly in both innings, they would've folded much before 212 or 340.
And yes, 1 wrong decision can change the entire course of a match- there were 10 that went against India in Syndey!
And stop saying umpires make mistake. Close calls are understandable, but what happened in Sydney was not umpiring mistake- it was much more than that.
RE:not a deserved win
by Troll Patrol on Jan 20, 2008 12:03 AM
what happened it syndey was not 'mistakes' those were blunders. not close calls like lbws, but caught out decisions where the ball had either hit the pad or was grounded. and 8-10 deicisions against one team. so don't even compare.
RE:not a deserved win
by Troll Patrol on Jan 19, 2008 11:54 PM
remember when dravid, ganguly, and rp were all given out when they were clearly not? remember when india lost because of umpiring blunders? what goes around comes around.
Thanks a lot for this victory guys.. we were really very furious with the non sense after the second test.. this is what i think called as EETT KA JAWAB PHATHAR SE DHENA.. common guys lets equal the SERIES atleast and make the aussie shut their .........

The batting aggregates would have ben higher if the umpires were just in the sydney test and series would also have been 2-1 in favour of india
RE:RE:Top Batting Averagres in this series - India

George result is right.India won Perth test 4 umpiring whereas Aussies won Sidney test 4 umpiring. So it level the decisions.Lets hope India will level the series.

tanmoy are u talking abt the hussey and sympnds decisions? hussey was out in the first over he faced, and ponting was out too. so it all evened out in the end.
RE:Top Batting Averagres in this series - India
by tanmoy on Jan 20, 2008 12:15 AM
I am talking abt Sachin n Dravid's decisions in 1st innings. They r out atleast twice each in 1st innings and that also when their score was below 20.
RE:Top Batting Averagres in this series - India
by tanmoy on Jan 19, 2008 11:51 PM
Then what would be the average if umpires give right decisions in Perth test???Sidney test Aussies won for umpire,so as India won Perth test 4 umpire.Comeon guys lets accept the fact that umpires can do mistakes. So lets not stretch the topic of umpiring(though thats poor in both the tests). The result is fair(i.e,2-1 4 Aussies) and lets hope India will win the Adelaide test.
Mike Procter, where are you? you have still nothing to say on Ponting's blatant cheating in Sydney Test. the evidence is all there on video. of like sledging you surmise that cheating is part of australian cricket culture.

For your information, Indian players are the best disciplined among all cricket playing nations, all former greats acknowledge this. HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THE PARTIALITY OF THE ICC TOWARDS THE WHITES AND THE SOFT_SPOKEN NATURE OF THE INDIANS all the whites INCLUDING AUSTRALIA would have had to pay a heavy price for their foul-mouths. AND REMEMBER, INDIA NEVER HAD TO BRIBE UMPAIRS TO WIN A LOST TEST.

sam the f*ag, we threw bottles at our own players not at our opponents. and once again, like most of the aussie f*ggits in this chatroom, instead of replying to the actual argument you're trying to counter with an unrelated issue. what has crowd behavior gotta do with players cheating to win a game?

Qoute from Media "Update: Why should Ricky Ponting [Images] not be banned, for a period of five Tests, for unfair practices that contravene the spirit of cricket?
Think back to September 2003, and the Pakistan-Bangladesh series. Then Pakistan captain Rashid Latif was docked for claiming a catch, when the ball had touched the ground. He was suspended for five games -- effectively missing the entire one day series between the two sides.
On that occasion, the match referee while handing out his sentence said: "As captain a lot of responsibility falls of Rashid Latif and he committed a serious offence by claiming that (unfair) catch which constitutes unfair play and a level-three offence of ICC [Images] code of conduct (offensive and penalties). Therefore, the Pakistani captain shall be banned for five one-day internationals."
The match referee was -- surprise, surprise -- Mike Procter no less; the same official currently in the hot seat in the India versus Australia series" Unquote What have you got to say sam
