I don't now if it was the best, but it was very important to win, after Sydney.

What we would do if we were Indian....
by Doogie Hauser on Jan 20, 2008 01:16 AM  | Hide replies

India, too good on the (four) days, however.

If we were Indian, Australia would abort the Indian tour of Australia because of:
- Bias by the match referee. Australia getting fined for slow over rates. Well with 4 fast bowlers, of course they're slow. Its just bias against the Aussies.
- Unsportsmanlike conduct. From Sharmas waist high full toss that he never apologised for (to Clark), the way Pathan, Singh and Sharma send off batsmen, Kumbles constant appealing for LBW when the batsmen hit the ball, Dhoni not walking when he nearly edged it to fine leg. The way the India team carried on after the game all showed no respect to the opposition and is completely against the spirit of the game.
- Thirdly, cheating. The umpires were no doubt instructed by the ICC to give ozzies out but not Indians. Hussey and Symonds were nowhere near out for starters. Dravid spent two digs playing french cricket - 2 legs in front of the stumps but seemed immune to LBW. Rauf being from the subcontinent is obviously biased, and BB being a kiwi hates Ozzies.

Ponting was interviewed after the game and was quoted (2 teams playing cricket, only one in the spirit of the game).

At least India winning should stop the conspiracy theories (for a while).

How many times Ponting survived the LBW appeals, do u know, against Ishant. Do you think tose appeals were bad? On the other hand, think about sachin and Dhoni's LBW outs. The umpiring is still bad, but not so shameless like in Sydney. Try thinking in a balanced way.

It was balanced. As balanced as some of the dribble that came out of Sydney. So the key of your argument is that there is a certain number of Indian dismissals per game before the umpiring becomes shameless??? And your suggesting balance???

There is difference b/n umpriring error & sabotage out of prejudice. And Bucknor has been haunting Indians not just from Sydney, but has a history where he has come in between India & victory. What can be more bias than a third umpire making mistake? And Dhoni did not walk as he could not see where the catch was taken & Aussies including Gilly being nto trust worthy anymore. Kumble has the right to appeal if he thinks he's got his man.
Rememer Tendulkar's dismissal was similar to Husseys. And Dravid made not more that 20 runs after he was given not out by Billy. And LBWs being entirely discretion of umpires as there is no camera staight down the pitch to give conclusive evidence. Only not so close decsisions can be questioned.
Sharma is just 19 years old & one has to understand that he does not understand the rules very best.
Wheather you carry 4 or 5 fast bowlers. That is Oz problem.
So stop talking like a typical AUssie looser.

Well, Rauf is from your area so he is prejudiced and everyone knows kiwis hate Aussies.

You can get to play International cricket without knowing the rules. Now thats surprising.

You missed my point. Before suggesting that the world is against you after one test, why don't you wait until the end of the series?

Yes Sam:
We heard such "inspired" comments before Perth too.. India can NEVER win variety.. India cannot score 100 in Perth variety.. Tait will eat Indians for breakfast variety.. Chin music and India will be dancing variety.. Mighty Aussie juggernaut cannot be stopped in Perth and their 17th straight is a mere formality variety..
We heard you Sam the first time. We are still hearing you.. and I'm sure we will hear you after Adelaide, but guess what? You will not be talking about Adelaide then, but about some other future match (maybe ODIs.. :-), just as you are not talking about Perth here!

Catches win matches. He gloved all the chances came his way, except one, which wasn't grassed either. Those catches were very crucial, and the stumping. Good work Dhoni!

If wishes were horses, the beggars would ride them. If u r an Australian let me tell you that yr team does not have the protective umbrella of Bucknor and Co. any more. U r sure to lose the 4th test too. But for Buckor & Co. yr team would hv lost at Sydney also. U know that too well.

To win by chasing 413 runs on 4th innings !! Miracle was required.. Auz had no chances.

One bad decision does not matter, Symonds would have been bundled sooner or later..

India need better team!
by Onlooker on Jan 20, 2008 12:53 AM  | Hide replies

Some coward who can't handle the truth has reported this message for abuse!!

Now that India has won, the board members would like to continue their preferred players for another few years. There are lot of money at stake. What BCCI should do now is, to provide cricketing facilities for anyone interested in this game. It should also provide a platform for people in any nook and corner to show case their abilities. With more transparency in team selection and better code of conduct for players, we can scale new heights!

Good job Kumble! Good captaincy and leadership!
