Mr. Dhoni, dont say that Indian bowling was not below par
by Kamal on Feb 12, 2008 10:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It was too below par. As a captain you should not have given Third over to Sreesanth at the end. He gave solid 48 runs in 3 overs. That clearly contributed for our losing the match. Hope you will learn from mistakes rather than blaming the rule of the game.

Then you might suggest no to give bowling to Ishant after he gave away 18 runs in his 2nd over against Australia 2 days back.

The game was over after 4 overs itself. In a T20 match 150 odd runs is just not enough to win.

Atleast ishant took wickets or bowled well in the rest overs...where as today the 03rd over of Sreesanth went for around 13 runs again..and he never looked to beat the bat or induce an edge or get a close lbw..not fit for international fast bowler level the type of bowling which he bowled today...sorry no line no length only swing wont work everytime

Mr. Bhanu:
Tell me sir, how do you take wickets if you are not made to bowl?.. :-)
As suman said, if Ishant was taken off after giving away 18 runs, how would he have taken any wicket?
Simple logic mate. And by the way, 18 runs in a low scoring match mean much more than 23 runs in this razzle-dazzle pseudo 20-20 match.
So let's not do this WHAT-IF after the match is over. Doesn't help anyone.
Cheers.

Dhoni is not not true at all. Its rather shame that our captain blaming for the defeat to some other factor rather than the performance of bowler(specially sree santh). For Mr. Dhoni, the target was not set for Sri Lanka was not given on random basis. you might have heard D/L method , so the whatever target was given to Sri Lanka was obviously calcaulted using D/L . So no one to blame for the defeat except indian players.

Hmmm... mates. Indian players always play badly - according to your excellent research.
Sri Lankans did nothing at all. It was India who made them win. More excellence from you.
Australia lost to India because they played badly. Not because Indians played well.
India lost to SL because Indians played badly - not because SL played well.
So pray tell me, by your logic, WHEN will a team play well?
NEVER?

Yesterday's Heros ..Today's Zeros...!!!!!

The bowling dept was made hero by the media yesterday against aussies and the same ppl crashed like a pack of cards today against a not so famed srilanka..shows the inconsistency of our team..just a bad day is not an excuse when u r representing the country ..its equal to the soliders who are standing on the border to save the nation..cricket is a religion in india..and cricketers are impotent..why do aussies fail once in 100 times ..coz they take each day seriously not like us one win n cool off till next 5 matches

Dont get emotional. It happens. We are playin with 2nd best team in ODI. SL fielding was always superb. India with the young team is getting there.India played very well and SL was lucky with Duckworth rule. They tried and succeeded. The plan is always clear whenyou are chasing a total.SL got toplay it like 20/20 but India had to play like mini ODI and set a target whic hwas decent.

Indian Cricket gone to extend N no.of opportunities to North indians when compared to rest of india. I dont think north indians are rulling the india. They are good for their region not for entire nation. better BCCI should consider and rearrange the team as per the caliber of entire india including South & other easteren states

One of the demands of Raj Thakery is Indian team should be full of Marashtrians and Tendulkar should be captain upto his 60.
