dhoni blames ....
by hindu on Feb 12, 2008 04:02 PM  Permalink

What a captain? 196 in 29 overs is around 6.75 where as is 7.33. There is not much difference here. Even if they had played for 29 overs they would have won, probably a little more easily. There is no shame in losing to an inform team of the day. Only thing is identify the causes and improve on them. Do not blame elements

In such situation, it is always beneficial to the team playing the 2nd. Sri Lanka has been the beneficiary. No one to blame and nothing to feel.

India's match by Chirag Mehta
by chirag bipin mehta on Feb 12, 2008 04:01 PM  Permalink

I think after the wicket of sachin indians played a bit slowly but credit must go to maharoff and kulsekara. As per our defence i thnk, any team defending a total in less overs the key is to get early wickets and if that thing does not go to ur way then u r in trouble.
I dont think for players like jayasuriya u can set a plan for restricting hin and not scoring.
Rohit sharma played nicely and other then a stupid runout even gambhir played nicely.

Experience and the true quality of a Captain will guide you. At least it was not the Aussi's this time. Better luck next time try harder ..

Wrong Reason
by Mohammed Sikander on Feb 12, 2008 04:01 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dhoni is just giving excuse. If the srilankans had to score 196 in 29 overers, they would have won in less than 26 overs. He should accept that Dolshan and Jayasurya played well and try to learn from the mistakes and rectify them rather than blaming.

Aussies were defeated bcoz of poor empiring they faced...Gilchrist was not out,Sachin Tendulkar was out...& many such incidents in that match....aussies didn't go to the refree & did childish compaint as like Indian team......Agreed Indian team has the caliber....but not professional caliber as Aussies

Why didn't Dhoni say that the wrong decisions given by the umpires help India to win against AUS in the previous match.

Gilchrist was NOT OUT lbw and
Tendulkar was clearly OUT caught behind.

And inspite that india made 160 runs in 47 odd overs.
HA HA!

Dhoni is most over-rated and over-hyped cricketer in world cricket today! He knows how to speak nothing else! When it comes to performing for team he runs after Deepika Padukone and gets wet!

U r right!!!! but any ways credit goes to out of form srilankan batsmen...they came out with very positive approache & ruined Indian bowling attack.....If we would hv won the match.....the credit would hv been given to the players......& now if we hv already lost it....why the debit is given to the weather or D/L method????? Aussies were also defeated bcoz of poor empiring they faced...Gilchrist was not out,Sachin Tendulkar was out...& many such incidents in that match....aussies didn't go to the refree & did childish compaint as like Indian team......Agreed Indian team has the caliber....but not professional caliber as Aussies

This is the problem when we mk mega stars out of upstarts. Dhoni's attitude is completely wrong if he is finding excuses here.It is not as though srl won wiht one wicket to spare. they wouls win even if it was a 29 over game...we need to take lessons...on batting tracks score faster and put the ball in the right place..use change of pace....things lik ethese and accept the better tema won on the day...too much has been mae of the twenty twenty win....thats "bikini" cricket
