It is time for Dhoni to close his mouth and accept defeat.Yes he doesnt praise sachin. Ganguly is not in the team because of him.It is time to replace sreesanth by Munaf. You must play 5 regular bowlers.Dhoni should do more than talking.

Mr.Dhoni is like a politician when you win you praise and when you loose blame others.Face it India were out played and it is time we leave Yuvraj to enjoy Australai with his lady love and Sreenath to practice his antiques and get better players to replace.

Nischinth hoke aage bado Dhoni...
by Rajnarain Gouda on Feb 12, 2008 04:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Those that are naive and understand nothing about cricket will dance, jump and shout not just here in this blog forum offered free by rediff, but also possibly from their roof tops and amongst their hapless friends and relatives.

Hence care not for these morons Dhoni, nischinth hoke aage bado. I am more than 100% with you. You did the right thing in calling for dropping Ganguly and Dravid. I wish you had the backing of the powers that be to get rid of Sachin as well.

You are spot on in your analysis of today's game. The elements did do you in.

I am not so sure about your supporting Yuvraj to the hilt. But I surely respect your wish and right to do so being the captain and answerable for your team's performance.

You have done a fantastic job till now from the time you took over as captain of T20 / ODI side. I wish sincerely that you carry on in the same way. Don't be apologetic about anything. Just focus on the game and do what is best in your judgement. Arm chair pundits can only criticise you, they are so empty inside of themselves, they can never in their life time offer you anything constructive or positive.

Dear MM Neel,

Do you think that only relatives of players are entitled to defend them, when they are right?

I am a cricket fan, pure and simple, straight and honest.

I talk sense. If you can stand it, so be it. If not get packing and moving.

absolutely wonderful analysis....infact your thoughts align with mine very much...

Dropping saurav and dravid was right i feel...but with sachin you look at him in the field...he is fast in running between the wickets and in slips and in the ground also..he can surely play at the highest level for at least 2/3 years...

Dhoni supporting yuvraj is also very very correct...infact i feel by the time this tournament ends yuvraj would have played one or 2 majestic innings...
u could clearly see that dhoni was not at his best in the home series vs australia as the seniors were there in the team...however i feel dravid is very unlucky as he is a complete team man he will do anything for the team...he might announce his ODI retirement also he is that kind of a person...not like saurav who wants to keep on playing....saurav is a big liability on the field...you need to hide him always and is a pathetic runner between wickets...

I am not Surprised
by rohit gupta on Feb 12, 2008 04:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I was half expecting this from Dhoni. For a while he has been too full of himself. If you saw his post match interview with Mark Nicholas at the end of last India v Aus game, you would have noticed how he delivers, long drawn out answers. To me it seemed he was intent on somehow being philosophical and it just didn't seemed right.
S Lanka may have been aided with the reduced chase,(not an easy one mind you)but for Dhoni to put the onus of defeat squarely on it shows he is in denial. Why are we so adamant on being aggresive and fighting fire with fire that we can't be humble and a lil more gracious in defeat?
Someone very quickly needs to have a word with Dhoni and explain, that its alright to admit we lost to a team that played better on the day and not come up with petty excuses.

You have a target 196 in 29 overs @6.76 runs/over, you are reduced to 154 in 21 overs @7.33 runs/over, your target is stiffer. You can win only if you play like a champion against world's most hyped cricketing side. Sri Lankan did exactly what a champion could have done.

Mr Dhoni, you are very good English speaker. But you can fool people by saying that "Shreesanth was putting the ball at the right spot". Actually Shreesanth was putting the ball the right spot for Sri Lankans. :-)

Accept it .. Our bowlers started off badly...
by Reza Arif on Feb 12, 2008 04:24 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Captain should accept mistakes done by a team .. and should try not to blame external factors for defeat ..

Our bowlers started off very badly .. especially the over-hyped Sreesanth .. After u give away runs .. the pressure is eased off the batting side and once the pressure is off .. it is just a question of time ...

Bowlers bowled too many extras and started off with looseners .. before they knew it .. they were under pressure.. and they buckled under it..

Dhoni had to go to SRT & Viru to get some help .. but in a shorter version .. it is very difficult for part timers to hold up..

The players disappointed us by losing .. and now the captain disappoints us again by his comments!!

C'mon Dhoni .. stand up tall and take the blame like a courageous captain!

even after 2 overs of Sreesanth cost us 31 runs, he is saying he didnt bowl badly.. if this is not bad then what is? This was bad bowling, doesnt matter if it is 20 overs game or a test match..

Very true, No other captain would have blamed 8 overs being washed out for their defeat. ( They already knew it was 29 overs game before the match started )
