One has to analysise...In whole indian inning there was no major blast on any single over...if you wanna to get a respectable total..u need to get 2 overs where u can blast 20 runs or more in each over..thats wat exactly jayasurya did..he blasted sreesanth..for more than 20runs.. Dhoni and rohit sharma batted beautifully but alas! It is dhoni to blame as these days he is playing cautious..captain inning..so he should have promoted yuvraj or uthappa to do the blass of 6's. There was no 6 from Dhoni's bat. India were short of 30-40 runs..which cost the match. Dhoni as a cautious captain promoted himself and didnt capitalize on it.

Ridiculous list...absolutely shocking list........

To see a joker like Michael Bevan and to see a free-rider like Dean Jones out there......there have been far better players than these two jokers and neways, those 2 jokers don't deserve a place among Viv, Sachin and Lara..

Absolute nonsense!!

After the match...
by arpan nigam on Feb 12, 2008 06:26 PM  Permalink

After the match, Dhoni was seen talking on phone to someone and learning the spelling of Duckworth-Lewis and what that method actually means! He was carrying a pen and notepad and taking notes!

This incident is similar to Shoaib Malik learning the rules of 'Bowl-Out' after T-20 loss last year...

No excuse please
by Dhanbir Singh on Feb 12, 2008 06:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is not the revised target or wet field but the slow batting by Rohit and Dhoni himself. It is not 50 over match and happy to see the run rate above six but only 29 over match which is noway different than 20-20. If there is no cut in the over and score even then Sri Lanka would have bated on same pattern. So dont blame any factor and better accept defeat.

Chal kat le...bheja hai kya bhajiya??

are you saying that 195 in 29 overs was not good enough?? dude, this is Australia and not SA or India....for targets to be huge!!

How many 300 plus scores do you see in 50 overs ODI in Australia?? very few!!

I agree with Mr. Singh....India must have posted more than 220 to have any chance..
195 in a rain cut match is always chaseable unless u take early wickets.

right mate. it was slow batting by dhoni and rohit which costed india. india should have made atleast 225 in 29 overs to make the match interesting.

These are just lame excuses by dhoni.

ALL GOOD DECISIONS AND ONE BLUNDER IS GOING TO COST YOU THE MATCH. UDHAPPA NOT GIVEN A CHANCE WHEN HIS SERVICES WERE NEEDED MOST IN 29 OVER MATCH. PATHAN IS BEING GIVEN BATTING PRACTICE, UDHAPPA IS ALLOWED TO GET RUSTED.
