Since the last few years we are tolerating this aspect that match referrres are always against India in any case. We have seen how ganguly was penalised and recently we witnessed how Brian lara could get away with his unpardounable gestures and appeals against Dhoni in the last test match. Actually the present BCCI is totally useless in all regard. They have assumed office only to oust dalmiya and ganguly and they do not have time to solve other problems.
I wil appreciate Mr.Dalmia for one thing. He stood by our players in the Mike Denness episode and fought for justice. The present BCCI management is busy counting its rupees from tenders than challenging the partisan treatment and injustice meted to our players in West Indies. All and sundries in the board were making a hue and cry against Dalmia's misdeeds but not a single mouth has opened in this episode.
Its not been the first time that ICC has behaved in this manner especially when it comes to Asian teams.. Other countries apart from the Asia cicketers have always been given the upperhand over us Asians.....And they would surely continue to do so...U know why??? Our Board of cricket control are quiet just like LAMBS. I regret to say but there has never been a report or a say from the BCCI chief or thechief of selectors. Their voices are heard only when internal matters are involved and not when the stake of the Indian players is on hand who are playing away from home and more importantly representing a great country like India. BCCI, Please step forward and do something... Its an APPEAL.
Being an experienced player and knowing the rules of the game, Lara's behaviour is questionable. It was clear on the TV screen that he was desperate and hence snatched the ball from the umpire. Which means he was afraid of losing the match, thus a spoilsport. It appears that India is facing a 12 member opposition.
Yes, ICC appointed match referees are biased. But there is nothing new. Lloyd, Barry Jarman, Chris Board, John Reid - each one of them acted against Indian players more than once and they will act like that in future also. The main reason is - our spineless BCCI. These match referees are usually harsh towards Asian teams, and soft towards other nations. But Pak and SL board are always back their player to the hilt, but BCCI never done. Dalmiya did it for some time, for some reason, but usually BCCI prefer to keep mum. That is the main reason, ICC and its match referees targets Indian players to show their power. And BCCI still behaves as if we are under British (white) rules. So shame to whom? The biased match referes or BCCI?
I t is vivid throughout the series that not only match referee but also the umpires are playing against India. They are not giving most Lbw appeals even punish indians for appealing.
