Match Refereee against India
by Ashim Kr Banerjee on Jun 13, 2006 02:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

There should be one rule applicable to all.
Else We should protest - but who will do that ? Mr Sharad Pawar & Party ?
They are good at Cricket politics in India - but to the outside world - kids.
It was only Mr Jagmohan Dalmia - who could fight with ICC and win.
We are good at home quarrel rather fighting outside world.

This all started becoz of that dalmia. he made everyone in the ICC against India. People have put comments that if dalmia would have been there nothing of this would have happened.i really question the thinking of these people. becoz it was during dalmia's rule that sourav was banned from 3 matches. so what did dalmia do at that time . nothing. so why blame sharad pawar & others. all this would not have happened had dalmia not been at the BCCI helm.

Match referee
by T.S.Gopinath on Jun 13, 2006 02:24 PM  Permalink

Yes. Always match referees are againist Indian players. The type of penalty given to Indian Players is always harsh compared to other country players.Brian Lara should have been suspended for the match for his misdoings on the field. BCCI should take up this with ICC and help Indian Players

Is the match refree against India
by atul on Jun 13, 2006 02:24 PM  Permalink

The actions of the refree have confirmed whatevery one felt that except during the reign of Jagmohan Dalmiya , ICC and its officials have always had a discriminating attitude towards India.Another disadvantage that Indian players now are not backed by the BCCI which is too busy in internal politics .Two years back nothing of this sort would have been tolerated by India but now since there is no one to back them up Indian crcket and cricketers will continue to suffer

Is the Match Referee against India?
by Pranav on Jun 13, 2006 02:23 PM  Permalink

I think its true. becoz Lara can do anything and if our players do anything the gettimg punishment. Martch referee is very rude behaviour against Indian Player.

I think BCCI take some steps against ICC.

Lara Tells Dhoni to Walk
by Alex on Jun 13, 2006 02:23 PM  Permalink

How stupendous and preposterous!!!!!! The official umpires (all 3) leaving the decision to the players!!!! If that is the case, let there be no umpires in future matches. Let all decisions be referred to the players, while the match is in progress around a table with proactive inputs from the respective team coaches on each issue!!! Why then are Umpires being paid??? It defeats all logic and reasoning. Dhoni should have stayed at the crease and put the entire onus on the umpires! It seems he may have been swayed by Lara's status in the cricket world! In such usual doubtful instances, the benefit of doubt is always given to the batsman. Why, I ask, was this not followed....???? OOOOHHH!!! Its bcoz India is playing ....ok..now I see...

Is the match referee biased?
by Krish on Jun 13, 2006 02:22 PM  Permalink

Prima facie, it looks so. The whole world could see Brian Lara snatching the ball from the ground umpire but the match referee could not! Even the video footage he obtained did miss it! How on earth this could happen when the footage was flashed a hundred times world over? The ICC should take a strict note of the biased behaviour of the match referee. Also the Indian Cricket Board should take up the issue strongly at the appropriate forum.

It is a shame that such a senior player request junior to walk off
by Kesavan on Jun 13, 2006 02:21 PM  Permalink

Lara did not stand up to his stature, when he requested Junior batsman like Dhoni to accept out and walk off. At the first instance, What business he has to talk to an opponent player and influence his decision. He took the ball away from the Umpire and did not allow the match to proceed for 20 minutes, had it been any Indian player, for Gods sake he would have had minimum 3 match ban. The referee own an explanation for every Indian here.

Let them play
by Anupam Pandey on Jun 13, 2006 02:21 PM  Permalink

Well I could have believed if India was playing against Australia / South Africa or England instead. Racism does happen in these countries a lot but for India playing against WI, this seems a little too thought off.

Let them play, things will be forgotten once India wins the test series atleast.
