Uniform rules and procedures
by Dileep Vellodi on Jun 13, 2006 06:16 PM  Permalink

These incidents prove the point that it is high time ICC took a long hard look at its officials and the procedures they have to follow. It should lay down clearly the conditions under which a rule will be applicable instead of leaving it to its officials to decide according to their whims and fancies. Even if something is left to the official's judgement, there must be a consistent and standard pattern for decision making. The teams should be allowed to appeal to a review committee against their decisions.

BCCI least concerned about players
by Debashish Pradhan on Jun 13, 2006 06:16 PM  Permalink

The BCCI's attitude towards is pathetic to say the least. I guess The board officials are getting intimidated by the ICC's status. This should not be expected with Sharad Pawar at the helm of things. Where Sehwag was reprimanded and fined for excessive appealing Lara got away with a much more serious display of emotions. Such things should come to an end. The board should be more aggressive in its dealings.

what's the use of umpires & referees?
by bijoy raja on Jun 13, 2006 06:15 PM  Permalink

There are highly sophisticated technologies/100 %accurate gadgets available. Why not utilise them to the fullest? Why should confusions/human tendencies, human errors /biased decisions by umpires/referees be allowed under name of upholding spirit of game.. Scope of umpires/referees will have to be curtailed to save the game of cricket.Their presence doing no good to the game.Their bad performance only harms the spirit of the game.

Why ICC acts like this?
by Balaji on Jun 13, 2006 06:12 PM  Permalink

This is not the first instance of ICC acting harsh on Indian team members. The BCCI is also acting crazy by being silent on this issue. Are the players and the BCCI are looking only at money and not at self respect? We should rise voice against ICC.

Match referee is baised
by Leela Raman on Jun 13, 2006 06:10 PM  Permalink

The match referee cannot have one set of rules for the Indian team and another for the West Indian team.It is unfortunate that the BCCI has been a mute spectator in such matters instead of sorting out things with ICC.
