Team has mor options now
by asnagesh on Nov 02, 2005 04:09 PM

Yes, it has. The problem with us sometimes we get carried away with success -that we tend to relax, that is one of the reason we have failed in so many final one-dayers. If Greg could keep the seriousness in mind and the Pschologist could keep our men in blue calm and be committed throughout , then we are the leaders- Australian aggressive tactics is paying off in Indian team- we wish the boys respond positevely and consistently.

my suggession to the indian team
by raja on Nov 02, 2005 10:03 AM

india played well on the past three matches. but they have to use the super sub. bcaz all other teams i had seen they are using super sub in a correct manner. so india must use their super sub based on the toss. and another thing is bowlers can set the fielding to attack the batsman. bcaz our fielding setup some times given more chances to the batsman to hit the ball. for example k.sangakkara found a huge gap on the off side, and played lots of shots on the off side. so bowlers must use the fielding based on their bowling style and also consider the batsman experience and talents. and picking up the top order batsman in the earlier stage of the match is the best one for indian bowlers. yes they did well in the past three matches. and also batsmans are also done their best performance, especially tendulkar, sehwag, dravid, dhoni, pathan, yuvraj, rao. but we can change the batting order again in the fourth match. that is 1.sachin,2.sehwag,3.dravid,4.dhoni,5.pathan,6.yuvraj,7.rao,8.yadhav,9.agarker,10.harbanjan,11.karthik.bcaz some baysmans look for a great company with him to reach the target. or we can shift the pathan to the opener with sachin, and sehwag to the 2nd down.

Too early to rejoice...
by Subhash Dhulekar on Nov 02, 2005 09:49 AM  | Hide replies

On one hand it is good to see Indian team in good shape but on the other hand, due to home ground and incapacitated Sri lankan team, India had some edge.

The real test for India has always been, overseas pitches and intimidating teams like Australia, Pakistan & South Africa. These teams has always decimated India on their home grounds and barring 1 or 2 players, the rest of the team shows listless performance.

The challenge for Chappel & Dravid is to win the finals in tournaments consistently to break the jinx and regain the stature of world cup champions.

Also, the ratings of Indian team should be in top 3 and not in top 6.

TEAM INDIA

With Jaipur ODI batting order and problems appear to be over. 148 and now 183 not out, nobody can deny number 3 slot for Dhoni. In the first place it should not have been taken away from him after his 148. Thus we have, SEHWAG,SACHIN,DHONI,KAIF,YUVRAJ,DRAVID,RAO,IRFAN and JPYADAV in the line up. First three for powerplays and then next four for steadying and accelerating the innings.
But bowling line up is not upto the standard. We have three and half bowlers in IRFAN,HARBHAJAN,YADAV and SEHWAG(the half). SREESANTH or VRV SINGH can well be the fourth bowler if given enough opportunities. In the 14 AGARKAR will definitely be out with return of KAIF. Problem now lies is to find fifth bowler who in any case is supersub. KARTHIK is inconstintent and not upto the standard. POWAR is good but is a very bad fielder. Then who should fill the place?
Experimentation in batting order should be over by now and should begin in bowling. YUVRAJ and RAO should be tried seriously right from the nets.
And dear Dravid, try AGARKAR as Supersub for the next match. It is the safest bet whether you win or lose tht toss because it does not make any difference to the team if he is in or out|||

Gangulys absence boon to india
by Santosh Rao on Nov 01, 2005 01:14 AM

I think the absence of ganguly has lifted the team. previously his lack of form was rubbing down on all people. Suddenly the team seems to have found a new life. Is this a message to selectors to thunk ahead and opt him out of the one dayers
