Well done people of Maharashtra...the tradition lives
by BA ABC on Oct 13, 2009 07:57 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

People of Maharashtra have shown once again that our people like slavery. In fact, slavery is inherent in the mindset of most cultures across the world. Of course people of India are better than rest of Asia in general, due to British influence.

In fact, the idea of "free thinking" is remarkably rare in the world. Only at the time of the Renaissance did free thinking arise in a small part of Europe and it spread to France, Germany and England and America. Germany and France had lots of problems accepting it.

Rest of the world is in a dark hole of slavery... Africa, China, Japan, Muslim world... etc etc...and just look at millions of Indians wagging their tails in front of Rahul Gandhi...sickening. Today Rahul goes from door to door representing "young India". How sad... the vision of the mythical, golden "future" of India has also been hijacked now. TV news works for them. The newspapers work for them. The Election Commission works for them. The President is their household maid.

Eigh hundred years under Muslim rule, then 200 years under British rule and now 60 years under Gandhi rule. Will this nightmare never end? Will people never learn to think?

Why can't the people of India rise up, take pride in their own abilities and overthrow these royals who rule our country like a fiefdom? Why do we look to dynasty and not to reason as our saviour?

Why EC needs lot of time to count?
by truetalk on Oct 13, 2009 07:44 PM  Permalink

Why EC needs 9 days time to count the votes. For whom they waiting so long. Still year 2000 beginning counting of votes taken place within 3 days time after the final poll. But now all the things are going very slow. In Honourable courts they delivering the verdict in two days. First day they telling whether accused is culprit or not? somedays after that verdict they delivering punishment details awarded to them. Why they taking such time to declare punishment. I am wondering all about this.

Cong-NCP sucks
by anand bansod on Oct 13, 2009 07:24 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Ya cong has a chance as voting percentage is less, minority and slum dwellers always vote for congresss, educated middle does not feel like coming out of their homes to vote.. once again a nonperforming govt of cong-ncp is going to come to power... what a shame...

Do not criticise one for the fault of another. Who has asked the people not to come to the polling booths? If the educated people of Maharshtra do not want to take part in the process of government-forming, they have no business to call themselves educated!

Do not abuse the others. Nobody asked the so-called rich and educated not to vote!

Everyone votes as per his/her choice. It is YOUR problem if you or your friends do not prefer to vote.

Re: why we all shud vote ?
by hindustani person on Oct 13, 2009 07:30 PM  Permalink
What you telling hindus vote concentrating to bjp is wrong because all other parties leaders and worker are members of their respective parties parties and they work for united India. For example the dalits not like bjp hindus party.

But do you really want a society like China? Remember, it is easier to show economic 'progress' under dictatorship - as China has done. I would any day prefer parliamentary democracy - as practised in India, but without the aberrations.

I am referring to economy and not society. In any case, we do not have real democracy its pseudo democracy India has.Worst than anything else !

I admit that democracy is not perfect in India. But, do you have any idea of what happens to people who criticises the government - as you and I are doing in this forum?
I believe therefore that even with all those aberrations, Indian democracy is better than the Chinese dectatorship.

And I hope you know that planned economy succeeds in dictatorship, because people have to comply under force.
